I don't believe anyone here is against enforcing current laws... it's the give an inch, they take a mile most have issues with.
The current administration campaigned on buy backs. How do you buy back something you never owned?
Here's the rub ... what if, hypothetically, the GOV does pass a law to "buy back" the AR. What are law abiding people prepared to do? Become criminals and shoot back? I seriously doubt it. They will fall in line or be on the receiving end of that very weapon of war. More likely nobody is winning this one and nothing will change and the debate will rage on long after a bunch of grade 1's were torn to bits in their classrooms. It's true if guns did not exist there would be no problem - but they do so it's a moot point. So do Nukes and we try to bring about treaties to limit their production. That has failed as well. As I like to do I will quote a person of note —this time Charlton Heston (as he fits this thread well) from his role in Planet of the Apes ... "You maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!".
