I'm having the same problem as 1731KG described in this thread, so wanted to share:

My 06 270 Amberjack has the same problem. The cockpit carpet is damp, and there is a significant amount of water under the waste basket. The water was fresh vs. salt.
I don't use the shower very often, but there was water in the sump.
The cockpit had been dry for a while. On Friday we had torrential rain; Sunday on the boat delivered damp carpet and a good 1/2 inch of water in the forward bilge. It was pretty scuzzy in there so I mopped it all out and got it relatively dry. The the amount of mold, it's been staying pretty damp in there.
Thinking a rain leak, I found that a number of the screws on the port portholes were loose - 1-2 full turns each. Also, I pulled out the fridge to look for evidence of a leak on the inside of the hull.
I found a spot behind the fridge that was a little bit damp. It was on a ledge and had sawdust from construction that was wet. This was directly below the left rear porthole. There's also a channel right below the wet spot that could direct leaking rainwater into the bilge under the waste basket. Now I just need to wait for some rain to see if tightening the portholes solved the problem.

I've been reading all these leak issues trying to figure out why after 2 years of owning my 240 it's collecting water in the bilge also. It only happens when it's raining. The water collects under the wast basket and seeps onto the carpet. There are no other wet areas that I can find. I've checked the windows and they seem tight. I'm going to try the hose test on the rub rail and see if that's the problem. Very frustrating....especially since it's been raining here for 40 days and 40 nights! Appreciate any suggetions.
