Carter, yes the crimping tool is about $255. I'm going to use what I've got at home for this one. I ordered a bunch of extras in case I screw up. I spent $2.67 in parts and $5.25 in shipping.

My dockmate has a jar full of molex plugs and pins - he got his crimping tool for about $27...???

Probably an aftermarket tool?? The place that I got the pins and plug from sell the original Molex tool for $247 TOOL

I will look around for a knock-off.

That's for modular plugs - like telephone or CAT5. I have one of those. For these round connectors, their tool is the expensive one!
