The Official 450 Express Bridge Owners Club

440? Sure looks like 450. And 2012? Thought 2004 was last production year.
Definitely a 450 Express Bridge built between 1998 and 2004. My guess is it has to be an early boat being that it is a three stateroom model. The elephant in the room is how this boat got a 440 EB helm installed instead of the normal 450 helm. Again my guess is this is a very early 1998 boat, maybe even built in 1997 or somehow the 450 helm was replaced with the 440 unit. Very odd.

It would appear someone has messed up the pics. Look at the windshield stairs. One pic is normal 450EB, another has ladder type stairs of the 440. And the wood laminate is dark, but in one master shot it is the light oak. The helm just could be a pic from a 440.

Thank you Larry, I missed that!
The pictures are from two different boats, a 440 and a 450.

Good sleuthing. And the lusying said 2012 I think.

More like a lack of attention to detail on my part.

If the owner responds to my email questions about the boat, I will surely tell him about the confusion he caused! :D

Another 450 EB is on the market from Pampano Beach FL. This 2003, two stateroom model is listed at $229,000. I found the name “Coastal Hops” on the broker’s website which was followed by a USCG search that revealed the HIN number. I added her to the list.

When your favorite local marine store had it's roof blown off in Ft. Meyers (no, not West Marine), one must improvise for what may be a hard to find part. On arch, access covers, one missing, one cracked. Temporary solution on one missing. Works for me!

Bridge top and surround shredded in Ian. Installed a fabric sun shade with lots of grommets. Temporary but quite secure until I can replace bridge cover, surround, and cockpit cover. Confirmed Boatswain Locker didn't do this aftermarket install prev owner. Canvas companies slammed here of course, some not even back in business yet.

If you have a hard time replacing those covers, I have seen several 450 EBs that have installed speakers in the spoiler/arch. Fusion makes a 6.5 and 7.7” model that might work.

Fine idea, tks. But, bridge has 4 shin-high speakers front & back corners. Hole covers are 6" over 5 3/8" holes. I think I found replacements, 6" white, 4 screw holes.

I actually had a guy contact me off of FB to chat a out this boat. He asked me to keep it quiet as he thought it was a smokin' deal.

It also has a really crazy fuel bladder set up plumbed into the fuel panel under the steps. Apparently, the owner passed and he had used it for long offshore trips (fuel bladder). I saw the ER pics and at the time the turbos, charge air pipes to the aftercooler and the after cooler were brown. Not a great sign, think they tried to use it as a sport fish.

Kevin, that was me... Went down and looked at it. The price has dropped again to $158k, but I was just turned off by the "rebuild", the additional fuel bladder plumbing, etc. It also has a good case of the brown bottom typical of South Louisiana boats. Could be a great "buy low and spend a small fortune rebuilding it", but that's not for me. I'm still on the hunt!

Art has listed his beautiful 450 for sale at a very reasonable price if you are interested. Here is a link:

Thanks! I'm hoping to find a 450 that is closer to "turn key". I'm aware that they all have their issues, but not ready to tackle a down engine ... I went and looked at one in Orange Beach, AL this past weekend and am headed to Fla this week for the FLIBS show. I have a pic of the HIN from the Orange Beach, AL boat for your database if I can figure out how to post the pic. Not very clear, but maybe you can decipher?

I really like it. My weekly boat wash guy quoted me $4,500 to cut, buff and wax the boat and wanted an extra $500 for ceramic. I decided to give it a go on my own and I picked up a new Makita rotary, all of the pads (cut, buff & polish) along with the entire Presta line of products. I used traditional wax on a small section and then compared it to the ceramic and they are the same except the ceramic is so much easier to apply and polish. That said, it is a lot of work and I can see why the professionals charge so much. My slip neighbor asked me jokingly how much I would charge him to do his boat. My response was he was free to use the Makita whenever he wanted to use it. ;)
We had a ceramic coat applied one year ago for a similar price. They did a very good job, taking out several imperfections in the hull. We wash with water only, and chamois dry to remove water spots. One year later and the boat finish still looks almost new. We are very pleased with the results.

We hit the 200 hour service on the generator twice a year, but we have a Phasor a.k.a. Kubota. Great genset.
We do about 100 hours per year, so change oil & filters every fall (just completed). Very light use of the Westerbeke, so we service it every 2 years. Since we’re in fresh water, haven’t had to replace engine zincs yet. I’ll check them again in the Spring.

Thank you for the picture! I had that 450 listed, but I did not have the internal Sea Ray number on the bottom “450EB-518”. Why-Knot was the 18th 450 built in April of 2002.

Another 450 has been listed for sale in Miami Florida. https://www.interglobalys.com/boats-for-sale/1999-sea-ray-450-express-bridge-miami-florida-8562535/
The listed HIN I believe is incorrect for a 1999 boat. Here is a screen shot of the broker’s HIN:

With “4568” listed this should be a 2000 boat, not a 1999. But then I looked up El Bandido on the USCG site and found this:

Probably a typo on the broker’s part.
Tachs show 1700 and 2100 hrs. Listing says 2100 hrs. No dinghy, no cockpit cover. $210k might be lofty but like that price for a 1999 relative to my boat.

Does anyone where I can get a fitted bedspread for the master SR bed shape? Or, do I have measure and custom order? yachtbedding.com is one such option.
