The new 330 Sundancer is here!

all of these were built with the same options...most of them need to be sold at almost $250 or so for the dealer to make their normal amount of money...crazy for a 32 foot boat. I think the resale market on my 320 just went up. What a great boat, well designed, great seller, why fool with such a good thing??

What did I like?

cabin storage, massive storage
walk through windshield and electric sliding windshield
flat foredeck
covered windlass
port lights on the side and top
hard top / soft top
dash and electronic controls
port side swivel forward seat
jump seat
corian counter tops up and down, everywhere
large stainless galley sink
exceptional bathroom, size, quality, fit, finish, elegance
larger sofa
power actuated forward berth
LED cabin lights
hidden cockpit and cabin speakers
larger more beautiful LCD television
transom speakers
glass and chrome transom door
overall shape, cut, look and stature
angled fuel, water and sewage placements
cockpit galley area (very nicely done!)
overall elevated quality of materials, controls, finish items
way larger midberth, I could actually sleep there laying straight out
light colored cabinet interiors
HVAC vent placements (much better than 320)
Ultraleather versus whatever they used in the 320, very elegant and supple
way bigger and better cabin frig/freezer and the companion ice maker drawer (huge improvement, and was on my wish list)

Bottom Line: This boat is a big improvement on so many levels it negates the few where the 320 shines. If you did not like the 310, you won't like the 330. But let it be known, this is no 290 which was a huge disappointment to me compared to the 280. This boat is greatly better than the 320 personally speaking and with those engines and power, wow, I can't imagine.

So what your saying is you really dont like it? :smt043 Marq, Are you moving up already?

At least 1 pic???? Please... :smt100

I guess Sea Ray has decided that the gunwale approach to the bow is out of style. Did they design with steps built into the cabin door or separate? Seems to me, although I don't have it on the 280, that the gunwale access makes cleaning easier as well.

Can't wait to see the pics!

Steps are molded in to the companion way door, there are also gunwale runs down both sides, you can access the foredeck any way you want, wonderful design!

Looks exactly like the 310 which looks exactly like the 290, blah, blah, blah....It's pretty clear that this is the path the Sundancer is taking.
What is the insistance with this rumbleseat??

OK............we had one in the water at our Marina. I couldn't get inside but I took these pictures of the exterior. I let one of you guys talk about the details. One of the things I liked was the center door thru the windhield because it looks like the window also slides up for some fresh air.

I just got back from the lake and I was able to get a demo ride on the new 330DA. I didn't take any more pictures because the interior was not yet prepped and things were in a bit of disarray in the cabin.

This particular boat has the 496 inboards and all I can say is wow! Does that thing ever fly! The ride was nice and smooth in the chop as well. This is one beautiful boat and while I can't compare it to the 320DA like Marq did I really liked the layout both in the cockpit as well as the cabin. Everything is first class in terms of component quality and general fit and finish. The only thing I don't like, and it's a personal thing, is the rumble seat. The reason I say that is it pretty much renders the traditional Lazarette storage useless for all but very small items. I think the rumbleseat may be standard but if it's an option it's one I would do without. While I won't be buying one of these boats any time soon, if any of you are wanting to move up, look at this boat. It is really nice.

330DA

Thanks for the early view of the 330! Any cabin photos??
Dave S -Your photos of the 330 they aren't on you reply now ???

So with that rumble seat, where do I put my fenders? It is nice that you can open the power cord compartment with one hand.

Those swim platform speakers better be water-proof, they're going to get washed everytime I come off plane. But low like that they should be at ear level when I'm swimming.

Are those hinges on the swim platform for the engine hatch? I hope it's sealed well.

That stern light is way off-center.

Can't wait to complain about the inside.

I actually see more that I like than dis-like.

There is a new one at Fox Chapel Marina in Pittsburgh. It is nice on the outside (pewter hull) and I can confirm the questionable rumble seat and soon-to-be-underwater speakers on the swim platform.

The other interesting outside amenity was the mini-grill located next to the sink on the port side behind the helm. The grill is directly below the radar mast and rigging for the canvas Sunbrella. Perhaps we should grill at 2-3 knots to avoid smoke damage?

The interior is interesting - the passageway back to the aft cabin is extremely narrow. The dual lower closet door by bed on the starboard side can not open all the way because it hits the bed at a 45 degree angle.

The position of the head/shower is crazy - it is roomy, but the door actually opens up into the staircase to the top deck AND the inside of the door is all mirror. I guess you shouldn't finance this for 7 years?

Here are some interior photos. I have 50+ total so tell me if there is something particular you want to see.

By the way, the sink is very large, not like in the 310 and that was something I was looking for as a problem. The interior storage is vast, and unlike the 320 there is tremendous storage behind the sofa back and it lifts up on rams; very very cool and a missed opportunity on the 320.

The flat screen TV is a true 26" by the way. The galley storage is outstanding and the extra large frig/freezer and seperate ice maker drawer is greatly appreciated.

Alex -

Yes it is. It appears to me there are some things that are nice - but the new mid size Sea Ray's are a little to Focus Group Designed.

The 310 had similar LOA and beam dimensions to the 300, so expect the 330 to follow the 320. Does that mean a 350 is in the pipeline to replace the 340.

Does anyone know the LOA and beam of the 330?

On the helm I only see one set of levers. Does that mean it's an outdrive boat? Combined throttle/shifts are not available on V-drives, right? Is that a bow thruster control, where the other levers should be?
