The Grim reaper strikes. Official death thread

A friend and I were on a two page picture(center fold) in the December 17, 2007 sports illustrated.

A good friend of mine’s brother-in-law had season tickets to IU basketball games. Seats on the floor. I was told that he donates $25,000 a year to get these tickets.

I do not read sports illustrated but a friend of mine called me up and said hey, did you go to the IU game. I said yes and he told me that he was looking in the sports, illustrated and said he figured that he would probably see someone he knew. He was right. My friend Steve, and I in the middle of the picture. We are almost exactly underneath the guys legs. Just to the left of the basketball. The two guys in the IU sweatshirts.

And as for SI, I dont think its just Petra. Magazines became a bad business model a while ago. I used to buy a lot, gave up a while ago when they became thinner for $7+ a month. I could read front to back in 10 minutes.
Car Craft
Super Chevy

Car and Driver

So many I can’t remember. Cant find anywhere, some hanging on, most gone.
Even Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler are mostly gone.
Got nothing to do with woke, trans, fatties.
The internet broke the print model. The print model said, ok, we will just charge for internet access. Except there are hundreds of free sites to get same information.
Not everything is politics.

The son in the picture is Corey Harrison. The son who passed away was not involved in the show.

I agree with most of the magazines you cited. The car related mags are just terrible now and subscribers have all but disappeared.

Sports Illustrated is in a different league. It has changed ownership several times and the latest generation of "editors" felt that they could ride the woke advertising and subscriber train by pushing the alphabet soup agenda. That's how Bud Lite, Target, Dick's and a host of others hopped on the same train.

Somebody in NY marketing convinced them all that being early on woke would lead to more market share and higher revenues.....why else do it?

Well....the public has spoken and they can take the woke fatties and trannies right to the unemployment line. It didn't matter that Sports Illustrated was about Sports....it mattered that Advertisers and Subscribers did not like the woke direction and stop buying it.
