Table Rock Lake

Tim...at Big Cedar I tie up to the end of one of their docks. We have been down there several time to eat.....but you are right I dont think I could fit in a slip.

OK All you Table Rock Boaters... Who's going to Aquapalooza? Let's all meet up?? I'll be there pretty early. Would enjoy meeting some fellow CSR folks as well as fellow boaters.. Look for "The Dawg House" Hope to see you folks there!!!

Let the Hell Raising begin!!

Well Aquapalooza was chaos. The wind was blowing 20mph and there were inexperienced boaters all over the place. Anchors breaking free right and left, we got the heck out of there after making a lap and almost being hit 3-4 times. Powerline cove is not the best place for a large event IMO, another MM f'up.

I agree, on all terms...

We had a blast at Aquapalooza!! I got out about 11:00....some in our group were out by 9:30. Luckily some in our group had some big anchors and we were stuck. We stayed out until about 7:30. One estimate I heard was there were about 200 boats.

I have some pictures I will post.

Kurt...I never saw you...but there were a lot of boats, I couldn't see from our spot.

Lee...I saw your boat The Dawg House....I was behind you. I was going to swim over to meet you, but you had already left.

I was absolutely freaking livid!!! I get there early, on the hook and a good one I will say.. Few friends show up, all is well.. then I look around and there were a couple of big boys tying up and not setting their anchors properly.. You can't just drop it straight down after you get settled.. I helped move the entire line as we were drifting back towards the back row.. needless to say after my second attempt to get everyone to get anchors out, I said screw this and went to cow creek and relaxed... Next year it needs to be in another location. I'm sure there is a better place on this wonderful lake or ours..

Sorry had to vent...

Maybe we should come with some other recommendations for next year we could forward onto MM....2 years ago it was in the cove by Rocklane....and I thought that was a terrible spot. Any ideas for other spots?

Jeff,
I think that's a great idea.. I see Zane most weekends and I think I will just mention to him a few things..I think we need to do as you suggest. Other wise we are just part of the problem and not a solution..

My head hurt after the phlock.......but was fun. I was the only f*n boat tied up at the dock when I woke up in the morning. Lots of people left that night....didnt get the memo.

If you didn't hear them leaving, than it must have been quite a party! No wonder your head hurt.:wow:

Kurt said he had to get you in your boat just to keep you from falling in the lake...

Anybody out over Labor Day? Beautiful weather, but the water was a bit cold.

Jeff, were you rafted up with a bow rider type in the cove across from Indian Point (Greer's Ferry I think) on Sunday?

We found out first hand how big the wake from a Sea Ray 500 DB on plane is - about 5' when the wake is going against the wind and 3'-4' when going with the wind. Glad I noticed and pulled back the throttle or else we would have been flying - literally.:wow:

Tim...we were in the cove by Chateau(Powerline) Sunday afternoon. I was tied up with a 320DA and a 340DA. It was great weather this weekend. The water has cooled off.

Was the big Sea Ray a blue hull 55 Sundancer? If so, he generally runs up on plane and throws a pretty big wake.

Okay, it was a boat just like yours with brown canvas. I thought about running into Powerline cove, but we never got over there. We were running to places we've never been. Found a great place to anchor at the end of a cove across from the Harbor.

It was a white hulled 500 I've seen a few times around the 86 bridge. Runs diesels. First time I've ever had to pull back the throttle on this boat due to waves/wakes.

Looks like you guys are getting tons of rain down there.

Ya...we are getting a little rain. We had a butt load last week Hopefully it will be gone tomorrow. We were in Powerline from about noon until 6pm. The cove across from the Harbor...was it mowed/cleared down to the water on one side of the cove?

How is the job hunt going?

Job hunt is slow, but that is partially my fault. I am looking at a lot of options, including a career change - maybe start a business.

I don't remember it being mowed. We were all the way in the back. There's 5 or 6 docks and then about 300 yards of lake with nothing but trees on the shoreline. It was very quiet and not a boat back there.

I was looking at your article in SR Living, and it makes me sick that we can't get down there in the fall anymore. I love sweatshirt boating weather. But with my oldest son starting for his varsity football team and my youngest playing club soccer it just doesn't work.

Was a good labor day. We went all the way to Cape Fair on Sat. Havent gone that far in about 3yrs and never in the dancer. Sunday was tie up day in the Ferry. Anybody going down this (18-19) weekend?

Funny you mention that 500 and the wake.....I ran into a 500 DA make good speed on saturday......really have to pull the motor back and wait for the wave to pass.
