"Stupid Post of the Day" thread

The water in our lake is blue(although up near the Mississquoi bay, we have blue-green algae that causes a green tinge to the water up there, but that's like 25 miles from me), I've seen some pics on here that have non-blue water they're boating on...

Probably because he didn't know what a QSM-11 was....assumed it was a gas engine and offered what he thought was helpful advice.

I don't know for sure what the person was thinking ....but I would give him the benefit of the doubt before starting a 'Stupid post of the day" thread with his post

Just my thoughts

My thoughts…. Most of the postings on the site will be about a specific issue, which by the way is why boat info in your signature is important in getting good answers or solutions. Posting a suggestion should not be a guess and it should be about the specific question from the OP. That being said you must read and understand the question before jumping in with suggestions or conclusions. There are enough knowledgeable people on the site (of which I am not one BTW) to get the answers without jumping in areas you do not know. As you can probably tell by now, you will get jumped on for making dumb suggestions. You may get away with one, but after that you will be a label like “wingnuts”.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread…. Who is going to be the “SPM”??

I was sure I would find one of my posts in here, oh well I need to try harder.

Can anyone tell me how I can mount a Honda generator to the top of my radar arch? I assume this would be fine since all H20 fumes would be above everyone and out of the way.

Hmmm... Maybe there should be "holier than thou" post of the day too....

I think CSR needs a "Stupid Post of the Day" thread. For example, the thread where a person is having issues with his QSM-11 diesel and a poster responds back that he should check his spark plugs:

http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20065&page=3

Gets nominated for today's "Stupid Post of the Day" award.

Why do people respond to threads like that when they have NO FREEKIN' CLUE!

This type of post is unacceptable. You might as well just call it the "Stupid Person of the Day" thread. It is our responsibility as SCR members to delicately dance around the obvious and handle the moronic posts with compassion and understanding.

In keepiong with the title of this thread...

Bluewater engines are engines that cannot be used in the Mississippi River or other "non-blue" waters. Green lakes would not qualify either!

ROTFLMAO!

Not meant to offend those (like me - green lake) who boat on "non-ble" waters.
Where would I find the label on my engine to know what color water my engines safe to run in?
My boating waters change color frequently.
Is there a number I could call to find out what color the water is that day?
I would hate to hurt my engine by running it in the wrong colored water. :smt043

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

 But only if you use non-ethonal gas.

I agree with the thought that you take suggestions with a grain of salt, since we have no idea if someone has any clue that they know what they are talking about. BUT, I agree, if you don't know what your talking about just read the post and move along. It takes too much time and effort to sort through some suggestions to get down to the real help. I like to take advise from people with the same type boat, who have had the same type of problems. Me answering a question about a marine diesel is like asking someone with a 180 open bow advise on how to fix my vacu-flush!

Apparantly Mercruiser used Blue Water as a marketing lable for their engines back in the 90's

Mercury Blue Water Carbureted models have some of the most powerful alternators in their classes. Plus they offer a full complement of warning systems that protect your investment. No engine is more dependable. And, like all Mercury Blue Water offerings, these workhorses have a tolerance for salt that is legendary. Part of the secret is Mercury's exclusive XK-360 aluminum alloy, as well as a special multi-step cleaning and electro-deposition painting process. That's why they're covered by a 3-year limited corrosion failure warranty that's the longest in the business

"Hey Gary how is the old bird we have not heard anything about him for a very long time"

Did you guys in SC ever find your lost Governor?.....

Are you serious?

I know things run a bit differently in Alaska. . but that was serious news.

Long story short: He took a long weekend in Argentina with a mistress.

(Hahahah. That's just ridiculous. . .isn't it?

except for the nagging detail

. . . . it's true)
