I think CSR needs a "Stupid Post of the Day" thread. For example, the thread where a person is having issues with his QSM-11 diesel and a poster responds back that he should check his spark plugs:

http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20065&page=3

Gets nominated for today's "Stupid Post of the Day" award.

Why do people respond to threads like that when they have NO FREEKIN' CLUE!

Well, at least he was trying to be helpful. (not that I'm defending it - he should've read more carefully)

Still, I think the more insidious posts are those in which the goal is ego inflation.

I delayed joining this board after finding it doing a search about "Bluewater Engines". Note my signature: I know a little about them...

In that post, the OP asked what the designation meant. After a few guesses, someone posted something like "before this gets out of control, let me explain...." He continued to post complete BS, and people thanked him for it. I closed my browser out of disgust and didn't return for months. (and probably missed a lot of GREAT posts in the meantime)

Nah, you only missed one or two that had any merit...There has not been a good post since wingnut was kicked off the island.

I think he needs to trim his props up when he is in shallow water too......

Sorry, that one has already been suggested.

Ok for some of us less experienced, what are "Bluewater" engines?
Dad used to tell me about some folks. "If you can't dazzel em with inteligence, baffel em with Bull$h**."

Great idea but….. Someone will have to be appointed at the “Stupid Post Monitor”. Any volunteers?

Only if I get one of those neat titles next to my user id. Not:thumbsup:

In keepiong with the title of this thread...

Bluewater engines are engines that cannot be used in the Mississippi River or other "non-blue" waters. Green lakes would not qualify either!

ROTFLMAO!

Not meant to offend those (like me - green lake) who boat on "non-ble" waters.

Probably because he didn't know what a QSM-11 was....assumed it was a gas engine and offered what he thought was helpful advice.

I don't know for sure what the person was thinking ....but I would give him the benefit of the doubt before starting a 'Stupid post of the day" thread with his post

Just my thoughts

The best learning experience comes from the "School of hard Knocks". This way he'll learn...or get picked on.
