Still Pond Raft '09

Don't forget the directions you gave me to get back there... "Stay tight to starboard until the trees are brushing the bridge then make a left..."
You actually make a right when the trees are brushing the bridge, then proceed hugging the shore until you get to the dock with the 40' Formula on the lift and then you turn left. If I told you otherwise then I was wrong. Good thing you didn't listen. Oh, but think of the story that would've been!

We go to still pond usually every weekend or there abouts. When you hit the 2nd mooring buay turn to port. The depth there is usually 6 - 9 feet towards the other shoreline.

Myself and Standers usually hang out there.

Just stumbled onto this thread. I'm game for the 18th. I might even be able to get there Friday. Assuming I don't run aground and can find that spit, I can help claim it for CSR.

If I do run aground, someone can just pull me off on Saturday.

Count us in as well. Look forward to meeting everyone. We are in the same predicament as Sandys Beach, we also would like to attend Aquapalooza. Hopefully we can hook up with someone near the red dot as i'm sure yellow will be full!!

Welcome back guy! Where have you been? Are you going to Boordy's this weekend?

Back on topic.... we can leave Aqua and head up together.

Where the heck is Still Pond?
It's up almost at the top of Lake Chesapeake, on the eastern shore just below the Sassafras River. There are no marinas, no restaurants and no services of any kind. Not even an ice cube for sale within five miles (unless you want to go hang with the heathens in Fairlee Creek:lol:).

Boordy's....what is up at Boordy's this weekend?

Our group is having a little sping party up there on Sunday, March 1st. Boordy's has events every weekend and we always have a good time. Come on up and join us. Use our website link below and you can find the details.

Thanks for the info Mr. Festivus.

Sounds like a great place to hang out provided you have provisioned the boat well and have an ice maker. Why do the heathens hang out in Fairlee Creek and why do they have all the ice cubes?

Good question young man! The heathens (I will define that term in a minute) like Fairlee creek because it has a bar called Jelly Fish Joels that they love to visit and wade around in their own urine while playing beer pong in waist deep water. Jellyfish Joel's has all the ice because they need it for their cheesy frozen drinks. I searched the internet for a picture of Jellyfish Joel's and found one here on the Bayliner Owner's site.

Bayliners aside, a "heathen" is someone who flies around the bay in his splinter of a boat powered by 2-3 rather loud big blocks. He is usually accompanied by a surgically-altered female who must be a minimum of 15 years his junior. They tend to travel --- oblivious to the rules of the road--- in packs; on 80-mph-bar-crawls they like to call "poker runs". In my neck of the woods, they run in a circuit between Red Eyes Dock Bar in Kent Narrows, to Waterman's Crab House in Rock Hall, to Jellyfish Joels and to The Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City. They also seem to like the Middle River a lot.

Because of the nature of their vessels, they tend not to have generators, ice makers and satellite TV, so they don't often frequent the quiet hamlet of Still Pond.

[Before any of you Fairlee fans flame me, please note the over-riding sarcasm infused into my comments.]

The definition fits perfectly, especially the part about the “surgically-altered females”….

Darn....
I'm on a 2 week boat vacation July 18th and 24th.
How about July 10, 11, 12?

I as well would much rather do another date because of Aquapalooza but hey, I didn't come up with the good idea so i'll be a team player and go when everyone does! It will be a long, tiring ride after all day at Aquapalooza!!!

Don't be a whimp.... do you want a tow?

Dan, if we pull out of Aqua at around 6 or so it should take about an hour to get there. The hard part is getting out of the raft up, good lord did I have a time of that last year. Then you are going between forward and reverse to get through all the boats without hitting anchor lines. You earn a merrit badge on that one.
