I'm thinking about buying 1 like this one... $2.400.

I think with all the boaters and people that come to Sylvan Beach NY,
I might be able to make a buck or two because there is no local taxi service at the beach. :smt038

Carting the boaters to the store for $20 & hauling the drunks from bar to bar at $5 per person one way. :smt001

And pickup some people that just want to ride around town for $30 per couple per trip.

OK, Lets hear the......

I think It would only be feasible if you glassed on one of those mock Rollse Royce grills on the front!

What would the other retired truckers say,or do to you?You can get a matching trailer for the rat turds !Or tow a dinghy to the lake!!

Wayne, as a scooter enthusiast you should go for the original APE!!! (orginally made by Piaggio with the Vespa engine)

Thaey still produce it, diesel and lithium!!!

Funny Pietro the only ones we ever saw in Italy were blue and had a little pickup bed in the back and were driven around by guys who looked like plumbers.

Insurance won't be cheap either. You know its just a matter of time before some drunk jumps off, breaks something, and decides to litigate.

oh yes, the one in the pic is "luxury" version. The Ape (bee in english) is a popular work horse in the little italian family economics. T's now a rare sight but it was very common til 10 years ago. You could get any version from people carrier to fridge van!

Been making a few calls,
The Village of Sylvan Beach gave me the go ahead. :smt038

I'm still waiting on the insurance quote.

On a serious note, it is probably illegal without a license.

Mike, I still have my car/scooter license.

Pietro, They are very nice but way out of my price range. :smt089

Do you have to wear a hilment to drive a scooter? Will passengers have to wear one?
Sounds like a fun summer buisness.
When I used to work I used one taxi driver when ever I could. He was a retired tour bus driver who only worked in day light and never at night unless it was for a regular customer. His main runs were pick you up take you to from the airport. You had to call him a day in advance. You need to cultavate a client list of older people that do not like to dive or can not. They will also go to bed early so there would be no night work.
Based on your government there has to be a grant for starting a small buisness.

Good Luck

Well its a done deal after many many phone calls, I'll be DBA......

Nothing, NO rat turds allowed, I don't own one.

No.

Yes we do, but what I bought isn't really a scooter and no helmet required.

I meant a taxi license...

I gotta go to DMV and take a written test to get the P endorsement = passenger endorsement for $5 bucks.

Good luck Wayne. I do have a question tho, how many tires will your scooter have and will you feel comfortable without a full 18 under you? (That was one question that led to a follow up question.) I keep hearing "You didn't build that" for some reason.
