Source for stainless steel engine vents

I know its not possible in mine as my blowers draw from the top of the box... my vent boxes are also sealed so I don't see it leaking down the sides of the box either...

Nice! Wish mine did.
I found some SS ones in the Defender (2012 new) catalogue, for what it's worth: item 900249, model 331200-1

well it's on 126 in the 2012, but online you'll probably get a better pic

Todd, I have the sames ones I'm sure that James and Skillz has... get the dims from the 390 and if it has the larger flange then id say you're good to go...

I'm 250 miles away from my boat and wont see it until Saturday to measure vent sizes. If you need to order now, all the oem 390 vents should be same, so I'm ok with the dimensions that are generally accepted for the 390s. I'm not worried if screw holes don't match, just so the 3 vents will line up correctly in each side

Ok I have new dimensions for the larger vents. I have a video I'll post when I get home

Todd, I hate to say this But...It looks like the 390 and 340 takes the same vent almost...The 340 takes the full size 14" vent as they are spaced a few feet apart. The 390 looks like it has to have one shorter flange on the one side to facilitate all three fitting together...Now is it possible to make two types just alter the one end for the 390? It may change a brake set up but not sure of any other work differences as far as producing the part..

On my 1990 390 the three vents are spaced about one inch apart....

Yes these wider ones will be 14" long and trimmed to match. I think that maybe the 390 I looked at was prepped at the factory where the ends of the vents were trimmed to mate up nicely. Depending on the holes drilled in the hull sides would maybe determine the gap between each one.
So I think it would be best to ship them to you guys complete before they are modified so you can have them sheared locally to match your prep.
I'll post an update tomorrow with some more information.

Firecadet. I'll update you on the switch covers when I get one to measure up.

Hi Skillz.
Did you see the video and dimensions of the wider vents I posted earlier>?
I should have everything update tomorrow, but I want to come through who wants what sizes and how many and make sure everyones orders are correct and I need to verify pricing, since we will now have two different set ups.

Thanks.
Todd

ya i saw the video, they must have done the 84's a little different, actually its funny, my new custom plasteek bow pulpit insert doesnt fit my dads 87 390, mine is a 87 as well, what i found is that back in 87 they had 3 different hull maufacturing points, so you can end up with 3 different boats (all be it very very minor)
anyways, my vents do not need to be trimmed at all, the full 14" length will fit all 6 of my openings without interfering with each other
so just let me know tomorrow what the price point is gonna be at and well go from there
thanks again

You're welcome. Thank you.
Yes, that's why I thought if trimming would be needed for anyone with the tighter fitting units it would be better to have them made as they originally were made and cut locally to fit if needed.

Thanks again.
I'll update tomorrow.

Ok everyone. I want to finalize what we have so far and make sure I order everyones vents correctly:
Please confirm this here on this thread and then send me a PM confirming that you want "X" vents of the 14" x "Y" size.

Richard, DocoftheBay and Pietro(?) have the 14" x 4 5/8"
Jason, James (Ka1oxd) & Skillz have the 14" x 5 5/8"

Please confirm this here on this thread and then send me a PM confirming with your email that you want "X" vents of the 14" x 4 5/8" or 5 5/8" size.

Bridog and FireCadet, I was able to get a IMTRA windlass cover yesterday and I'm working on getting that reverse engineered to provide you pricing on those.

Is this a one time run or will these be available from now on? I would like to have some but won't be able to get to the boat for a while to measure. That and given the way I'm hemorrhaging hundreds, with the move and upgrades, I really don't need these right now. But man are they cool.

Hi Wilytemptress.
I will be able to offer them again, but only if I can get an order of 25 or more will they be in this price range. If you need only 6 and others don't want to order with you, they will be closer to $199, not the $95 + shipping in this quantity.
