So, lets talk weather....

OK Mid-Atlantic guys......I'm getting a serious itch to open up the boat. Get the HVAC units running, begin the Spring clean up, and prep the Fresh Water system, replace on-engine fuel filters and fire up the mains. The Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC are expected to be at peak bloom on March 23, 2024. Our yacht club is planning a cruise up to DC to get pictures of the boats in front of the cherry blossoms with the Washington Monument in the background. Pretty cool.

So, for you guys in the general vicinity, when are you considering waking up your boats?

I too have been thinking of the same. Last weekend was my last busy weekend doing non boat things. I think this weekend I am going to clean the cabin up (remove heaters etc.) and possible start the AC units up and get some water in the boat. If not this weekend then definitely next.

That WM trip sounds like a great primer for the season. Wish it wasn't such a long trip to get there.

Sux….

In the 50s today in west Michigan. The crocus are blooming and the forsythia have lots of green buds. I cleaned the garage today and moved the snow blower back to its summer spot. I will probably need it again but it felt good to move it out of the way. Spring is in the air.

We need snow, and you just gave me an idea for when we return home.

I’ll just “Summerize” my snow blower, and - Viola! - we’ll get snow.

3/6/2024: the growing season has begun. Boating can’t be far behind. I saw fishermen launching today at the northern launch of Spring Lake.

I put Triple 19 down last weekend because the grass is starting to perk up. My daylillies on the south side of the house are already growing.

We are cool today but the rest of the week is supposed to be above normal.

All in the 50's during the day going forward, 40's/30's night.

Filled the boat with fresh water and started the engines, they started right up like they were just running. Got to love block heaters. Going to start the HVAC up tomorrow. Nice way to spend a rainy day under cover.
