i am 64 and have used my health insurance (a stint; i wouldn't have wanted to pay for that, out of pocket) that i have paid weekly since i was 18.

I have smoked for 31 years now and in the industry i am in it could easily be the least leathal substance i breath every day just curious, none of my business, but what is that?

good for you, seriously, i hope you are feeling the same at 64, it is just that every statistic says you will not, ..... It's the same as seat belts and helmets, who the hell likes to use either of those?

Fortunately or unfortunately, we do live in a society of others and for whatever reasons or politics, we are tied to each other, to some extent, like it or not, and I believe it makes sense to discourage mutual behavior, if possible, that takes, us, you and me, toward a path of our premature demise via health or medical bankruptcy....

The part I loved about jersey and philly was seeing them both in my rear view mirror!! LOL It wouldn't matter to me who was elected and in office, that placed SUCKED!!!! At least for me........

Hey now, don't fault us all down here for Billy Beer and failed past presidents. Neither of our recent candidates could probably identify a peanut...lol. We learnt (<-southernism) from our mistakes. We send only the finest pizza men and Pelosi couch company up for them higher offices now....lol. At least we got cheap smokes...relatively speaking.:grin:

18 miles? what, is this wussy racing? 135 miles and we have a deal. I'll buy you a beer if you can just keep me in your sights for the first 18 miles. I average 21mph at 100 miles.

I am sure there would be a performance difference between a smoker and non smoker
not much doubt in my mind about it
I am not saying smoking should be used as a performance enhancer
just saying that not all of us smokers are or will be a leech on society in our futures
I am an auto mechanic...the chemicals and metallic dust is not good for us either.

Stress probably kills more people than smoking. I also think it's offensive to see angry people in public. I think it should be against the law to express anger in parks and beaches and public buildings. Maybe get a ticket if you don't say hi back. I also think ugly people should have to pay higher taxes because it's really not pleasant to look at, and it spoils the beauty of the world for the rest of us. Short people are a danger to society and I don't think I should have to pay higher insurance premiums to cover the fact that short people cause more accidents than normal size people.

Oh, I should probably mention, I am an ex smoker. We are the worse kind. Cigars, not so much, I wish I could, but they choke me up.
