SeaRay Closed?

Good morning Fishnut,

Is there a phone number that someone at Sea Ray may call you at. I believe I may know individuals there that truly do care.

Capt. R

I believe the local crew makes all the difference.

I used a local Midas shop for a long time. . . .always had fair and honest treatment. Until one day. . . a new service writter showed up. . .and told me -with a straight face - that I needed a new set of rear shocks ($1800 plus installation) to pass inspection.

A 5 minute drive and $20 later I had a nice new inspection sticker from another shop. That was about 30,000 miles ago. . . .

Where did you get the customer service number? I went to the Sea Ray website and they only had contact via email. I sent them an email and have yet to hear back. That was a week ago. All I received was a confirmation email that was an auto-reply.

Why the fixation with MM ?? Just use a good tech at a local dealer (not MM) or service yard if you can't fix it yourself. Just because MM sold the boat, and is the
big kahuna of SR sales, does not mean you need to use them to service your boat.

Now there's the problem, down in this neck of the woods other services yards don't exist. I have a guy that is great for the motor. He runs a performance shop but also works on recreational boats so he has me tuned up and going. But who do you get to do the boat warranty work outside of the engine.

Ok, so I started at the battery, and am working my way to the fuse box, so far so good.

I got it out of the Tenn telephone book. You just need to be resourceful. :smt024

Fishnut, did you PM Rusty? I would.

Rusty is great people. In February 2006 when I was contemplating buying the new to me 2003 420DA Rusty spent an hour on the phone with me reviewing every warranty claim that had been made on the boat I was considering. He then answered all my questions about 420DAs and C Series Cummins engines. After speaking with Rusty I had a solid picture about the history of my boat. In subsequent calls he has answered every question I have had on the boat.
I am loyal to Sea Ray because of folks like Rusty.

I'd take him up on his offer.

Skip ,
You and I both bought our boats because of the dedication of SEARAYS Customer service people ( LIKE RUSTY ) . Sadly most of those people have been let go.... The knowledge base has been decimated !!!!!

Yikes!

This is what I got when I went to www.searay.com today:

This website has been closed temporarily for maintenance.

Please check back at a later time.

Odd they do this in the middle of the day?!?!?

why is it odd? I'm always updating my websites, heck I couldn't get on this site for hours while Jim updated it. Not everyone likes to work at 2am.

Robski.......

What is your problem? Sea Ray has asked for Fishnut's phone number on this site so someone can contact him. What more do you expect?

Thanks for getting involved Rusty. Now THAT'S a real maritime name..Rusty Higgins. It just sounds right. Now...Horatio Hornblower...that's another story.

Fishnut-

In fairness to Sea Ray and their folks, who really do care about the customer, I hope you will post an update on what has happened with your situation

Frank,
Theres no problem.... Im just stating facts. You've been tending to twist peoples words lately. Which is not like you .

Rob

Fishnut,
I fought an intermittent electric problem in my boat for 2 months. I did the same as you switch fuses around and it would work. Come to find out the true problem was the main ground wire at the fuse box was loose. In the process of messing about I accidentally hit it and found it was loose.
You might just check all connections in and around the fusebox. Good luck.

Hi, I was just wondering what time you happened to call customer/dealer service. Their normal business hours are M-F 8-5 EST. I have occasionally come across the meeting message but, for the most part I've always gotten a friendly voice on the other end of the telephone more than willing to assist me. Having to manage both of my dad's vessels I've become more than familiar with the knowledgeable staff at both customer/dealer service locations (KX and FL). If there's something they don't have the answer to right away, they will get back to me within a reasonable time period with accurate information. Not too many companies today go above and beyond like Sea Ray, especially in times such as these. Maybe you should try calling again!
