Sea Ray SSS 1993 63 ft

Congrats.....looking forward to the next chapter of the story....with pics!!!!!
 
Thanks guys, so much more to get done now that it closed...the journey is not over yet!!

I meant to post this photo gallery earlier, some detailed pics.... some of them are from as far back as 2007.... the yacht is in the exact same condition....the listing broker provided this gallery for me.. will take more pics soon, moving onboard in the next day or so...

Wow....just look at all the money you'll be saving on hotels......kind of like the admiral telling me how much $$ she saved because it was on sale!!!!!
 
Copb8tx: Will do, that should be interesting!! When i was getting advice on doing all of this back in Australia before I started someone sent me a video link, wish i still had it you guys would find it interesting ...where a 60 something ft yacht was dropped off a sling while loading onto a cargo sling! Geez what a waste! ended up upside down in the water!! I sure hope something like that does not happen with mine lol
 
Beautiful boat! What a roller coaster ride for you. You just can't make this stuff up.

Best of luck getting her home. We'll be waiting for the picture of you relaxing on the aft deck.
 
Thanks guys!! Yes one step is done i now own her but sooo much is left to do will be around 6 weeks before it will be back in Australia and getting it ready for shipping will be a pretty big deal!

Anyone have any experience with installing ocean leds on the rear underside on a yacht?

I plan on doing a whole ton of additions and mods to this yacht.
want to put ocean leds on the transom to be able to illuminate the water at night
Add a netbook laptop to each room, trying to figure out how to put them in stow away shelfs that you can pull out..
Thinking of taking the tv out from under the galley counter and turning that unusual bulk head on the forward starboard side in front of the couch into a full entertainment center.
Want to install a marine barbecue somewhere on the back deck but not just put a barbecue there want to have custom molding made to put it in.
would like to put a surveillance video camera for the back deck.
tear up the carpet even though it is new and put down Teak floors
Tile parts of the heads.
Put Sea Deck non slip coverings on the swim platform
Want to make this a special one of a kind Sea Ray, i deliberately left a decent amount of money in my budget for all of this.

So yeah those are my ideas not sure how much of it I will get accomplished but some of them for sure, I plan on spending a lot of time working on the yacht will be my own personal project.
But for now need to get the bottom thoroughly cleaned, Autopilot display screen fixed, water pump for the airconditioner fixed, treat the diesel with AJX and change the racor filters.... among lots of other stuff so have tons of work to do ...found a center console 12 ft tender with a 70 hp gps and vhf radio for the back... got a great deal on it!!

I would be honored if you guys would help me name it!! It currently does not have a name, at one point was named after one of the previous owners corporations.. So trying to think of a good name!

So thats all the news in my ever evolving adventure!!
 
Did you check on the ship tracker site to see where the ship is?? this will give you an idea of the amount of time
you might have to do some of the adjustments..You could do the lights there whilst its being cleaned but make sure they don't leak when they drop it
back in the water..nothing like heading back to Sydney and having that sinking feeling..

Hey Rob, have you checked out the Nu-Teak coating for your decking?

What ever you name your boat I think it is important to remember that this is the name you are going to be repeating on the radio alot. Always good to name a boat something that wont make you cringe in a years time.
 
Good point Paul, I did not even think of that! Kind of hard to name the boat, sort of like naming a kid lol trying to get a name with some meaning and that's relevant and that doesn't make me cring when I say it on the radio now haha
I looked on the net, there was a long list of clever boat names but want it's name to be original! Will figure something out!

Ok now getting down to the hard stuff getting this thing ready for shipping.. Any advice from people that have shipped a yacht before would be greatly greatly appreciated!! Starting to feel a little flustered with all of this has been going on for sooo long now with so many hurdles to overcome! Bimini top, what do you do with it? MY guess is take it all down for the trip??? May sound like a stupid question but i simply do not know..... aNything and everything advice and information you guys can provide me would be a life saver! Thanks for the name ideas!!

Ozzie what kind of company did you use to get the freon pumped out of the AC and refridgerators and the halon out of teh fire control system? WHo should i contact that does this type of thing?
From what you have told me
i need to get all refridgerant removed or any gasses that damage the ozone
Have the bottom thoroughly cleaned or customs will quarantine the vesssel
pump out all of the fresh water and sewage tanks etc.
The vessel is almost out of USCG documentation will be in a few days.
Have i missed anything Ozzie is there anythng else i should know or do to prepare for its entry into Australia?

For those of you that have doubted what i am saying is true and that i am making this stuff up, i have a bill of sale now that i will happily post to prove this is not some hogwash! Yes i dont know much about all of this, yes i went in blind but now i own a 54 Sea Ray so i m part of the club so lets be friends ok!

Here are a few names i was thinking of let me know what you guys think!

Sea Tiger ...liked this as its very powerful had it doing 40 mph the other day and i used to train tigers in my 20's .... www.szarkaduo.com to see who i was before i got hurt.

The Laszlo ....after my father who passed away he would have loved this boat
Dazzling Deception ..... first show i ever performed in
Artiste De La mer ..... performer of the seas, just like the way it sounds
Acrodancer ..... what the Rudas acrobats were called i was part of that troupe
Dunno all i have come up with so far

SO many thanks to everyone that has helped me on this journey and given advice etc!! You have no idea how much you all have helped me with all of this!
