Wanted to share thst your 55 is one of the most elegant creations S Ray ever did. The visual lines of the boat are just perfect. Congrats on a gorgeous boat!

Old man in power boat had worked all his life paid his taxes and had insurance. One stupid mistake after 50 year of working seems acceptable especially when you get to pay for it. One stupid mistake after working 4 years is not acceptable when you do not pay for it.

Saw this in an article about a GoFundMe story. Does anyone know what the fees are and if there are fees.
GoFundMe collects a fee for each donation and a percentage for processing the payment,

Thanks Rivertender. I tend to agree, but I might be a bit prejudiced toward the 55's. She's a very comfortable boat to cruise on.

Maybe you should have said 'the dream isn't over yet':D

I get a kick out of the reporters doing these stories. The story says the owner used to use the boat alot...."Years ago, he would sail the Odyssey almost every weekend with his family to the Florida Keys or the Bahamas, but Reinecke, 77, said aging and health issues made that more difficult in the past decade." The guy lives in St Pete.

My guess the "Odyssey" will meet a similar fate unless they learn how to sail and navigate. Of course, gofundme rewards stupidity so this story should have at least another chapter to it. Perhaps when they sail into another "unmarked" coral reef (submerged object) or have to pay mooring/docking fees that they do not have.......

So true as it seems little has been learned by anyone including the benefactor.
