Glad to hear you'll be in the parade. I'm checking with the commodore to make sure about that date/time for the meeting. If it's NOT what I put above I will let you know.

I'm sorry to hear that. That's the one thing that I have told my wife, we don't know how much time we have, so If we can afford to retire, why wait.Congratulations! As an IBEW member, I am so happy for you!
my best friend in the IBEW had planned on retiring March 2022 at 58. I ran his pension numbers (defined benefit plan) and he decided to retire March of 2021 at 57.
He passed October 20, 2021. Take nothing for granted, there may not be a tomorrow, so glad he enjoyed his retirement for the 7+months he had. He was so happy!
joy it!
Thats awesome! Congratulations!I had my last day of work yesterday. I get to meet with HR today to turn in my work badge, then I'm officially retired.
I've been a union electrician for 36 years, working the last 13 in maintenance on the Hanford site. It's home to the worlds first nuclear reactor where they made the plutonium to help end WW2.
I am 58 and was planning on retiring at 59 1/2, but my job is covered under the presidential mandate for federal workers, and I made the decision after meeting with a couple financial advisors that it's time to go enjoy life.
My wife is 3 years older than me and will be retiring at the end of December.
I'm pretty excited for this next phase in life, and hoping it's not a short phase.
That is terrible. Was just told last night that my daughter-in-law (who is 5 months pregnant) is being forced to get the vaccine by her employer. She works for a major healthcare organization in this area and primarily works from home. She has no problem getting vaccinated but not while pregnant. Both of her parents and my son have all been vaccinated and she was planning to as soon as she had the baby. She went to 2 Dr's to try to get an exemption and both refused to sign it. I don't think they are in a position for her to quit her job so now this will be weighing on us for quite some time now.
Thanks. I don't think she has any licenses. Her degree is in healthcare management so she does more administrative type workThank you so much everyone. Even though I was forced, I've been ready for a little while.
boatman37, that kind of stuff is going on everywhere, and it's so wrong. I've heard the health care professionals are being threatened with their licenses if they sign exemptions.
I wish her the best.
