Recent events affecting CSR ??

I have noticed too. I have a lot going on right now during the day so I have not been able to "check in" much until the evenings. I used to see at least 2 or 3 pages of threads with new posts and now I only see one or maybe a little more. It is certainly one of the more quiet winters I recall, at least so far. The Holding Tank usually has some good things going on in the off season as well but this year it appears to be winterized.

It's all part of Obama's redistribution plans. I hear the traffic has picked up on the BOC & THT sites!

Just like me..start a thread and go home and miss the action

Seriously nothing to worry about I would post more but I'm too busy shopping for a portable generator to put on my bow while anchoring overnight. Any thoughts???

I am here every night and you can see by my post sometimes late at night. The admiral lost her part time job last June and has done nothing to get another job. She sleeps to 11, then watches TV, smoke her cigs, and breaks out the beer at 7pm. Now I see the bills piling up as she still keeps spending more than I can make. Things have to change! The worst part is that she does not even understand why I get upset! I tired to set her up in a business, made sure she understood the work effort to own your own business, and she does nothing.

It is got to be because there is no boat in the water to escape too and the short days and long nights!

I have the opposite situation. My wife worked 37yrs at one job, retired, and started a new job the next day. That was seven years ago, she recently committed to 5 more years...she won't stop till she drops I think.

Same here. With the app on my phone I check it probably 10 times a day so I'm here and read most posts. But haven't been replying unless I had a reason too. Hope to start on my winter boat projects soon so maybe ill have more to talk about then. I get really depressed in the winter and just anxiously count the days until launch. I'm also one of those idiots that, every winter think about how much the boat costs just sitting there not being used and then have to talk myself out of selling. But I also know myself well enough to know I would hate myself if I did!! I just hate winter!! I should have moved south when I had the chance! Now being a business owner it's never gonna happen until retirement and that's a long ways out!! :(

You guys can come see me during the winter months and we can kick the tires on some new ones....just to keep your interest on simmer so you don't freeze.

If any of you are in central Florida, it will only take a call to see if I am around and you're more than welcome to come by and see the mothership. Instead of announcing numbers to the general public, just PM when you feel you will be in town. The beach is 3 miles from us and the Mouse House (Disney) is 50.

There ya go, no longer a need to be boat bummed!

I've been irritated by some of the posters. Mostly the guys that joined in 2011!

I think this is normal. I refer to the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas as "the gauntlet". It is usually a big blur.

sorry for the hyjack But Hey Quint4 did you get mt PM??

I got it and responded that same day?....check your inbox again.

Here was my response:

"I believe the pic you saw is of the "free" air filter they sent with the carb. It was a special they had going on. I do not think it was a marine approved air filter. I gave it to a friend.
I just used the spark arrestor that came off my old carb".

Still here just not much time to play. Work is super busy, bought a new house and installed all new flooring, painted the entire thing, new baseboards, etc., been out on the boat 3 out of the last 4 weekends (2 for lighted boat parades) but checking in when I can. I just have not seen very many real discussions. There are still some that peak the interest but not too many. Someone needs to start the 2013 Sea Ray plant visit thread and get some momentum going.

I’m both lazy and busy. I connect to the forum almost every day, read all and often I just I do not feel like writing something.

Possibly is due to the strange times we are living and this is taking some enthusiasm away from me… I’m enjoying my boat and this forum a lot still, but I actually feel concerned and apprehensive about the future…

Simple exlanations to the decline:
1.) It's winter for most of us, hard to get much boat talk motivation.
2.) Boating message boards are dying a slow death, they will not go away, but too many have gone the way
of "social media" outlets , rather than specifically boat talk. Just look how many sites have added forums for "Dockside Chat, Miscellaneous, etc.

With the evergrowing resources available on the internet now, it is easy to get many answers to questions without soliciting an
opinion from a stranger on a message board. True that much of that knowledge out there came from message board interaction
amongst it's members, but it's not like it once was, and likely will never be again.

I'm on most days but feel bad posting about 80 degree weather and having fun on the boat. Most people have thier boats winterized or lost them in Sandy.
