been talking to Dave Adams (Quint4) about an upcoming visit to LKN...he will be here Oct 30 - Nov1.....he is renting a house on the lake in Sherrill's Ford that is very close to my marina (Boat Rack).....I plan on stopping by and meeting him during his visit if anyone else wants to join me....might even go out for a cruise.....he said he is renting a pontoon boat to take his family out.....

Dave said that he is considering moving this way in a couple years.....

Looking forward to it Cliff!

Me too - need to figure out how to meet up. Cliff, I may still be boatless due to the work they are doing at Lake Norman Marina - they are redoing the concrete where the lifts put boats in/out.

Dave Cliff and I are very close to each other.

Perhaps meet for lunch on the lake? Whats a good place to eat on the water?

I hope to meet you when you and your family come to visit Dave. My marina is close to Cliff's and Bills. I'll be working night shift when you visit but I can get away for a late lunch.

Dang I'll be a Zmax that weekend. Plenty of places on the lake for lunch. North Harbor, Midway, Rusty Rudder to name a few.

Looks like it will be me and Bill and Mike right now.....Maybe we will hear from Jim later if he can make it....

lunch sounds good to me....

Mike you mentioned a late lunch....what time would be good for you?.....

I was thinking of either the 'Boat House' or 'Blue Parrot' for lunch.....

When I work the night shift I tend to wake up around noon. So not to late, maybe 1pm? Heck I could just wake up alittle early!
Blue Parrot or Boathouse would be fine. If Dave is running a.....pontoon....it would take forever for them to make it to the Rudder or "southlake". haha
I know, my Chris Craft isn't much faster than a toon boat. Hell, I've been passed by some trippletoons! Lol

I've been to Norman & Sherrills Ford & I too would like to move there. I've lived in N.C. & still visit there every year. I love that state! Not sure I can make the short notice trip though.

come on down....love to have you...we'll just make it a party.....:smt038.........

what about if we meet at 1:00 Saturday Oct 31st at the Blue Parrott?.....

I have not been to the Blue Parrot yet.....does it have slips big enough for the 340?....if so we could all ride together in my boat or just drive there by car.....

Mike / Bill / Dave....is that good for you?

Sounds great. We are staying with another couple. They are from our dock and true boaters, I am sure they will love the idea.

Saturday or Sunday?

Cliff, sounds good to me.
Dave, Oct 31st=Saturday

Blue Parrot has a face dock that will hold your 340. Not sure about the width of the slips though. This time of year there shouldn't be much of a crowd coming off the lake, so the docks should be open. Be warned, the Parrot is a "deck" style restaurant. They do have a full enclosure with heaters, but if it turns cold, you might need a jacket.

Got it...Saturday....sounds good.

OK....if Bill and Mike want to meet me at our marina we can board my boat and stop by an pick up Dave and friends at their rental house and head to the restaurant.....

since Blue Parrot only has outside seating maybe we should go somewhere else...what about 'The Boat House' grill at Mike's marina (Midway)?.....Mike, are there big enough slips at the grill for a 340?....

it looks like it will be me, my wife, Bill, Mike, Dave and his wife, and Dave's friend and his wife for a total of 8.....

BoatHouse is good - we go there a lot. Dock wise I'm not sure - need Mike to comment - my little boat doesn't have a problem, but the 340 I think would need to go on the end of one of the docks. I guess we make a decision once we get up there - BoatHouse and the Parrot are pretty much across the lake from each other.

This is going to be fun - hope the weather is good.

Hold the phone, I might have a party of 6.

My daughter and boyfriend live in Greenville, NC and might drive over Saturday.

Is 10 onboard ok Cliff?

10 is OK with me but not sure all 10 can sit in the cockpit.....one or two may have to stand.....if needed maybe some of us can just drive.....

Dave,
does the rental house have a big enough dock for the rental pontoon and to board my boat?

Can't really tell from google maps....do you know how deep the water is at the dock?....looks like the dock is tucked pretty far into a cove....

I emailed the house owner that question and he said the cove and dock will accommodate a 340.

Will a 1pm pick up work?
