Post your boat's name

"COWBOY CADILLAC" I think we were drinking when the name came about. It has stuck ever sence. Ah hell I even have bull horns for the bow pulpit.

What timing! My gf and I were just talking about this yesterday while driving around town! She came up with Smokin' (as in Hot, fast, etc.) I liked Margaritaville (I like the drink, but far from a parrothead, like the music)

I was thinking hers would make folks think I smoke, I don't smoke anything, ... but I might be swayed to that, the more I think about it.

WOW What a great thread! I feel like I know everybody just a little bit better. I think this should be suggested reading for every newbie. I usually just click on New Posts - 24 unless I am searching for something. I'm glad somebody posted. Now my turn. -Gettin*A*Head- After persuading (pleading with) my wife to get a larger boat, her condition was that it have a Porty Portie. Our search over the summer became known among our friends as looking for a head. We decided on a 220 sundeck with a head. I like dual meanings so we went with Getting A Head for getting a boat with a head and the fact that we were moving up in size. I didn't think about any other meanings until questioned here on one of my postings but I will let you figure out the other meanings. The name will be going on shortly.

Have to wait for the shrink to come off before the new name goes on - Quality Time. Dual meaning, our family owns a precision production machine shop (hence quality) and the quality time spent with my wife and daughter.

Our boat was named Pretender when we bought it. Having learned the lesson the hard way about changing boat names without the ceremony we chose to leave it. The Admiral's mother wanted to know if we were pretending we could afford it. Wondering if she had a point, we named the dingy Realist.

Bonus Days. Any day on the boat is a bonus, especially up here in the Great White North.

Actually, the term originally came from my days of installing gas pipelines. Whenever things went better than planned(which was almost never), it was a "bonus day".

SNOW DAY - after growing up in Ottawa and living in Montreal, Canada, I made my break for the beautiful Cayman Islands 10yrs ago and finally bought my first boat after staring at an empty dock space for all that time. The boat name came to me the first day I took her out as I got that same feeling as when I was a kid and there was too much snow so we couldnt go to school, the joy of the unexpected, and freedom of being on the water.

In my buisness I deal with Cash Flow everyday. So when I'm on my boat my Assistant tells people I'm working on Cashflow

The name of my 390 Sundancer is Cashflow

I have been shopping for a boat for over 20 years and finally decided on a purchase. We close Wednesday and I can't wait. My wife thought of the name that says it all.

The reason I named my boat....... nevermind you all have heard this one before.

I am still trying to convince a very talented friend to draw the graphic I have in mind for the boat.

Mines the "SINK Hole"

A friend of mine explained to me that he and his wife were DINKs (Dual Income No Kids) and told me that I was a SINK (Single Income No Kids). And since the running joke is that only the best is good enough for me (they think I blow all my money), I ended up with the SINK Hole!

Well, I'm going with "Naut Board" for the reference to wake boarding and life style. You know, 'not bored'. I thought it was clever anyway...:smt038

For those of you who are afraid to rename, just do the ceremony. You only need a few props, a script, plenty of beer and a bunch of friends. Pictured below is our ceremony, converting Kids-Leg-a-Sea to Lil'Krissy III. BTW, that's the admiral standing, MarkD (from the boards) is in the blue shirt and the photo was taken from the boat of a 420AC owner and SR board "lurker" (but adament NON-poster). James, you know whose feet those are:lol:

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I too have been going back and reading lots of older posted threads and often its triggered by someone post or comments so keep them up. Our boat was originally go to be "Working On It" as that’s seems to be what we are always doing or going to do in order to be on it. The admiral veto that idea with her own as she said it would be Gimme Time as she pulled a letter out of her purse she says she has carried for about 15 years. It seems I wrote her a note one night after we'd had a heated discussion about the M word (marriage) telling her to Gimme Time so you can see she won then and now. Another more pointed meaning relates to my oldest sister Ivy whom passed away 2 years ago at the age of 56 with colorectal cancer and at this time in life all we can ask for is Gimme Time as all else is material.

Enjoy your life and time because it passes by in an instant.

"AT EASE"

I was an Army Drill Sergeant and my wife retired from the Air Force. Seemed appropriate as this is the rest position for the military.

My last boat was named after my puppy who whenever he was bad did this rawraw thing when he was caught!

So I decided to name the boat "Nauti Raw". However, when making marina slip reservations I quickly learned everyone didn't quite see the name as innocent as intended, so I figured I'd steer away from "Nauti Raw II" when I got the new boat - a Sea Ray!

Because the Sea Ray is pretty quick (larger engines) and the boat is a great gettaway from a long week at work, I decided to call her "SEA Ya!"
