Post your boat's name

Dave,

We're Wa Hoo fans as well and live in C-ville, Boat currently in Ft Lauderdale and hope to be heading N by the end of March or 1st of April. Currently plan to dock at the Yacht Haven Marina on the York River.

John,
We will be boating in Deltaville, VA. not far from you. Yacht Haven marina was one we considered, haven't had a chance to check it out yet though. I believe Crown point is also located in that area.
GO WAHOOS
thanks,
David

My Wife named our Boat "Ambiance"

It was a wonderful Saturday afternoon alone with my wife, she came up with this Name after a feeling came over her after enjoying each others company, candles and warm Love, it came to her as a rush of warmth and satisfaction. It's "Ambiance".......The rest is up to your vivid imagination....Guys....

LIL SUNSHINE

I was being superstitious when I decided not to change her name last year after I bought her. It worked because we had the best boating weather all summer.

Our first boat's (1986 270DA) name "Eli-Beck" was a combination of our daughter's names , Elise and Rebecca. At first it seemed an aukward name but as that summer progressed and we came to absolutely love the boat and everything about being together on the water, the name was music to our ears and still is.

Our second boat we bought from my boss who was dying from cancer and he wanted to take care of as many things as possible in advance and asked me to take it even if I just sold it later. It was a 19' cuddy that had been sitting in a yard for over 2 years with no cover. At his funeral service, his 12 year old son gave a very moving story about how his Dad always read him a favorite story book "The Little Prince" about a small and young prince that of course turns out to be a very great man and leader for his country. The boy concluded his moving story by saying that it wasn't until after his Dad was gone that he realized that his Dad, also small and a humble but very capable man, was indeed the "Little Prince" himself. Wefixed up that boat that summer and named her Little Prince. My daughter and I spent a lot of glorious days fishing in the back bays off New Jersey. At the end of the season, we wanted to move up to something we could take off-shore. Although the boat ran like a top (never let us down) it wasn't pretty so no brokers wanted it so we placed an ad in the local paper for "best offer". A man (by appearance, of modest means) and his son showed up in a very old car looking for a small boat they could use to fish the back bays. They had saved all summer and brought the cash with them. Although barely enough for a down payment, my wife and I agreed instantly and sold/gave them the boat. Several weeks later on the sea trial of our soon to be third boat, we saw a man, small in stature and his son pulling in a good size striper on a boat named little prince.

Our third boat (1998 330DA) was going to be Heritage 2 because it was really my idea and a second toy. The first toy was the HD Softail Heritage I was riding for a few years. But we din't like the way the 2 or II looked with graphics so Heritage it is.

The name grew on us over time as it was associated with the good times we had as a family on the water. So our fourth and current boat (2000 380AC) has the same name.

Mad Dogs and Englishmen.

Because we have 2 crazy dogs, we're originally English, and my wife got to pick the name this time...

It's from the poem by Noel Coward, not the album by Van Morrison - I didn't even know that existed until the name was firmly on the back and everyone kept stopping by at marinas to chat about what a great album it was... After a gazillion attempts to explain it's actually from a poem i gave up !!

My wife and I bought a '06 300SD last Nov 07. We went on the creative side for this name and graphics. I know it is kind of Tim burton-ish but we like it. Attached are the proofs.

PS: Don't ever but a boat at the end of the season no matter how good the deal. The agony of waiting is just not worth it no matter how good the deal is!

Out of the six boats I have owned only two have been named, NAUTICAL DOG was the name of my 230 Sundancer when I bought it, of course, my wife and I had to go out and get a dog to go with the boat. We moved up to a 270, named LIL YOT, appropriately named for us as it was the smallest in the fleet at our yacht club (until a new member joined with a sister 270). we now have a pair of Westies, and the next boat was going to be NAUTICAL DOG TWO, but that knot@work.com does put a smile on my face!

SeaSick Too - Named by my wife, who did get seasick many times earlier in her life, enjoys the time we spend on the boat with friends and family!! I think every time she boards the boat its as if she tests herself. Whatever, it WORKS

Thanks for the compliments on the name. It is in reference to the hords of spiders which take up residence on your boat in the Cheasapeake Bay. The spider and web are just a nusiance it is the green spider poop which gets ya.

I see your out at the Jersey Shore. Is it true spiders are not an issue there?

Searayman300....we're neighbors, I am in West Grave..oops I mean Grove.

LOL it can be a bit quite in these parts.

Do you keep ImpulseIII on the Sasafrass? Cuz I think we may have seen you out a few times last season. We kept MoonShadow our "now ex" black 260SD at Skipjack. Great place!

It is amazing how small a world it can be.

Frank H (ImpulseIII), who is a jersey shore ex-patriot, could answer that question better. he and i have had the spider poop discussion before. i would have to say that poop (either from gulls or spiders) is not a problem at our place. the battle we wage each and every day around here is against "black streak disease."

and yes, Frank is on the Sassafrass. where are you going to keep the new boat (i'm a bit familiar with your bay).

Hey Frank, I live in New London (actually Lincoln Univ. but I don't tell anybody...) Where are you in WG? I grew up in Landenberg and still work there.

Searayman300 .. Yup, we are at SkipJack Cove (we call it Skippies) on B dock. I spray the hell out of lines and power towers and everything else I can spray to keep the spiders at bay. Seems to work fairly well but they are tenacious little bastards (small b). We never really had a spider problem while in Toms River.

Flyerfan260 we live in what I humorously call "the old age home" (really pisses my wife off), off 896 called Ovations (active adult community is the proper term actually...and we do have some really active adults!!). Been here about a year and a half and love the community and the area. We are just slightly less than an hour from the marina!

Now where the hell did I put my Metamucel!!!
