Post your boat's name

JAIKA I is the name of my boat named after the initials of my two children JAIme and eriKA, and I because is the first one!! JAIKA II, III....... will be my upgrades....
 
The boat we just bought is named "Lucky Lady II" which we thought about keeping. However we decided that for our first real boat we want to pick a name that is new and unique to us, and not just keep the previous owner's leftover. We struggled to find something we could all agree on, we scoured the Internet for ideas, tried to think of silly puns, meaningful double entendres, everything.

Then, a few weeks back we were in the car with our youngest son, who loves cars. We passed a Lamborghini Huracán on the road and he enthusiastically pointed it out. He and I both commented how we love that name, and then it popped into my mind that Huracán should be the name of the boat. There are several reasons why:

1. My wife and I are both of Cuban descent, and Huracán is the Spanish word for Hurricane.
2. I graduated from the University of Miami...the Hurricanes.
3. Huracán is the name of a Mayan god, also known as the "Heart of the Sky" who can control wind, storms and fire.
4. My wife and I lived through Hurricane Andrew, despite some significant property loss and damage.

The one issue is that some believe naming a boat after storms, wind or weather tempts fate. However, when we perform the re-naming ceremony, I plan to appeal to the gods, and make them aware that we are naming the boat in tribute to the god Huracán, so that he will control the wind and storms and fire to our favor. Also, after some research, I discovered there is a ship in the Mexican navy named Huracán. So the anti-storm naming superstition is obviously not universal.

So, long story, but Huracán will soon be the name of our boat.
