Canuck.... I thought Canadians were friendly?... so far your not helping the sailboater stereotype or the Canadian stereotype... ... zero for two. And your sure not going to change anything here with your bad attitude. Maybe it’s time to move on back to your safe zone.
I must be spending too much time in the US maybe :)
How about we discuss the accident and leave off the comments about sailboaters and powerboaters? You up to that?

You up for a PM? I'd be more than happy to discuss?
(and that was not an apology if you did not get it)

I'm not sure where we're at, I think we're crossing posts, but I did edit my remark when I realized you were apologizing. You were apologizing, right?

Not really - it was sarcastic, but I would like to PM you to converse. And at that point, I will apologize for being a DB.

Canuck, here's the thing....We don't care about you...Nor, about your rude and condescending opinions...Clearly you have an over inflated opinion of yourself, when truly, you simply don't matter. If you were smart enough to come to the forum in a polite way, you would probably see that many of us here have a wealth of experience and understanding in many respects, including sailing....

Further, most, if not all of us here, have a healthy respect for sailboats, and we own / use many types of watercraft... You are perpetuating this divisive "them vs us" mentality that apparently you harbor...

Frankly, all you've accomplished to do is alienate responsible boaters and prove how arrogant you are...I have no idea if you have serious clinical issues, but I'm not ruling the possibility out.

Why don't you move along to your FB group and tell them how you educated a group of SeaRay boaters...

You're annoyed because I called you out on your so called expertise. If you're a sailor, or were, as you claim, you wouldn't have made the remarks you did. "Most of us"? There's a significant number of posters here who clearly do not have any respect for sailors and that was reflected in the remarks. And I would have come in politely, but I spent three days stewing over Soulshine's jackass remark, and finally thought, let's see if we can get some conversation going here over some bad attitude in the sea ray forum.
If you don't like being spotlighted for your own bad attitude as demonstrated by your comments (which I pointed out earlier), think about what you say first. There is no doubt that the sailor in this incident was not at fault, but you start asking silly questions about VHF use, and wondering about GPS tracks?
Give me a break.

Be my guest - if you were here in Hilton Head, at this point I'd ask you over for a beer.

yea yea yea - you powerboaters, always showing off the big bucks over us poor sailors :) But, I'd let you!

You do of course realize that boat is 30 years old right? Just a poor old software engineer.

Find someone else to fixate on and leave me out of your pontificating nonsense.

Maybe next time you want to talk about "sailboat infestations", you'll remember what your momma told you about not saying anything at all if you can't say something nice. Or did your momma forget that particular life lesson?

For those bitching at the new 'members' who you are referring to as trolls - let me put it this way. The majority of you have no inclination nor interest to learn about sailing and the differences between sailboats and powerboats. You think you're in "searay country" and you own the water. That's just a dickhead attitude if there ever was one, and if you don't recognize that, you've got a terminal case of stupid.

OK, I was one of the ones that called it trolling and I was also the one that used the phrase Sea Ray Country. So forgive me if I interpret your remarks as being aimed at least in part directly at me.

You're right: There's a lot of narcissism with power boaters. Just as there is with sail boaters. I think I acknowledged as much in my post. But I referred to you as a troll because you ARE one.

You are not an owner, and you weren't a member here until you joined JUST to pick fights with members. Yes, some of us do have attitudes, self-centered views of the world and tempers. How is that different from sail boaters or anyone else? But this is OUR group. We can be that way here - and we can call each other out on here and all is good. You joined for the sole specific reason to flight. That's what makes you a troll. I see you're now up to 17 posts. Congrats. And welcome. But first impressions are lasting impressions...

As an analogy: I'm not a Patriots fan. Far from it. But if I went over to PatriotNationForum.com and created an account and my first two posts were about how Tom Brady is a cheater, guess what? I'd be a troll. It doesn't matter whether I'm right or wrong. And it wouldn't matter if the folks in that forum were morons or geniuses. I'd just be there to stir up trouble. What would make me a troll would by MY actions. Just like yours do for you. Acknowledge it. Own it. If you can't do that, you're just a child, picking fights. And... a troll.

(Oh, and my apologies to any Pats fans on here... it was an easy analogy so I went with it!)

Thats ok, the Pats suck! :)
(I'm just going to stand and wait on the lighting bolt)

I see Northshore is risking his life now, someone get out the lifejackets....maybe a flare gun would be the better choice come to think of it...

Scooper, I was pissed for three days at some comments I was reading here, they were so asinine. You see me as picking fights, I see it as showing you guys what the other side is thinking. You want fights, I'll invite a couple of real idiots over here and you'll see some fighting.
I wasn't insulted that you called it trolling btw - not in the least. What bothered me was the attitude from some - not you - that it couldn't be the powerboater that was in the wrong here, even when it's QUITE clear that's the case, because...because....well, we're powerboaters, and the underlying attitude I heard is that sailors are jerks.
Sure, I came on with attitude, but a few people are seeing my points and perhaps now we can make some progress here on improving boating for all of us.
Now if you can provide some advice on helping the Maple Leafs win a Stanley Cup before I die - their last one was in 1967 for God's sake - I'd appreciate that immensely.
