Paid Off!

Me, I cracked open a new bottle of my bourbon gave Nemo a short two finger taste, lit a good cigar and watched the sun go down....after that I looked at a 40' SeaRay....in two months the truck is paid off, all I plan on doing then is giving Ally a finger wave and then head to the boat

I can only dream of that day...

I would think if you put what you were paying each month in gas, you would have a very enjoyable boating season...

How about a trip to Bimini? I am sure you have already hit Dry Tortugas, but that would also be very cool!

When you do, I'll be the one bringing the bottle...I just wanna see your 310, I may be looking for a bigger boat :smt001

We worked at becoming debt free for a few years. Each time we paid something off we took a trip. We went to Hawaii a few times, and Mexico a couple of times.
It was our way of celebrating the milestones.
Congratulations on owning your boat!! It will ride on the water nicer now.:smt038

The answer to your question depends on whether you're talking to this CSR group or Dave Ramsey!

Congrats on getting it paid off.

The best way is to just keep using her. Take a nice trip somewhere, drop a hook or tie a line, open a VERY good bottle of your favorite beverage, spark a VERY good cigar if you partake then just sit and smile a lot.

Congrats!

I love some of the suggestions.......I think a boat trip with the appropriate refreshment for a toast and watch a nice sunset is about as good as it gets and a great place to start. I also like the idea of adding an upgrade; satellite TV, cockpit TV, electronics, etc.....make it kinda like a new boat all over again!

Are they ever paid off?

No finance on mine......but....Marina Fees, maintenance, toys, fuel.........

Just to make you smile......I'm blaming you! Your post made me remember how nice it was to pay off the boat loan....so today I paid off the truck three months early....all that's left is the house and land

Congrats! Great feeling eh?

I would guess it's like paying off a home. Our house payments now go towards improvements! Same could be done with a boat but it will not gain value like a home. We've paid cash for all our boats because payments during the winter would kill me. I'll always be a Classic Owner because our season is only 4-5 months unless we move south and deciede to live on a Sedan Bridge fulltime!
