Congratulations to Mike (TurtleTone Turtle Butt) who was the overall CSR winner in my book. Of course Jim was first across the line, but he had a huge head start!

I finished just around 12:30 am EST. It was really exciting for a while there, but the end was confusing to me. My status showed I had 30 miles to go, but the buoy was only 1 mile away. It turned out that the 1 mile was more accurate. The other wierd thing was that even though the rules said that you had to finish within the red circle, this apparently was not the case. I wasted at least an hour tacking upwind in light air to get closer to the buoy - for no advantage. Oh well, live and learn.

For those of you still out there, have fun!

Do you have to take the red bouy to the the starboard side as if your were rounding it or just hit it "within the circle" as you mentioned?

It seemed to me that you just need to be near the buoy, either side. On my screen it looked like I was far away, the distance at the bottom left of the main screen said I was 30 miles away, but in the standings I could see that the boats that had already finished were listed as 1 mile away. I am not sure if this is a limitation of my computer monitor or of the game's graphics.

Important for everyone is when the new LEG will start. This will be at the same time as the real race, namely December 13 9:30 GMT +1. I think thats 3:30 am EST

Looks like I'm going to be late to the starting line. (Grin)

May as well save time by skipping the waypoint. . . .

. . .looks like my boat sprang a leak and is now going to sneak beneath the waves.

Some info about our port for the next few days.
Last one in picks-up the beer tab.
looks like that'll be me Yargh... You guys might get thirsty waiting for me...

Looks like Nivea Men is taking a shortcut to the next port, or fell asleep down below, or fell off his boat.

What a day there were times where I would check in on my boat to only find a stop sign had been installed a the mast. A true Stop sign...I could not help but laugh.

Well, I made it up to 34,xxxth. And I am most certainly going to be late for the start of the next leg, too, probably by a couple of years.:smt015

Mr. G-
I am thinking I would rather be homeless than deal with all this blowboat crap. The only contacts I have ever had with blowboaters is towing them in from the Bay and only a couple live at the marina.

Does anyone host an online POWERBOAT race?

Yeah, I got one of those, back when I "ran?" into the islands back by the first buoy. It didn't look like I was on land.... but I couldn't go, till I turned away from it.

I've had so many of them recently, I thought they put up stop lights out there. I've just about had enough of sailing.

Look for a late entry for me. I'll be re-signing up as a new boat fro the next leg. I'll miss the start by more than a week due to vacation travel. My wife advised that we do have internet at the condo, but who knows what that will cost from Costa Rica in both dollars and/or emotional duress:wow:. May not be worth it:grin:

Argh, 0 knots... I was doing 3.7 an hr or 2 ago! geez.... where's the wind?
