Did you have to remove the back wall?
No, starboard side is accessible in the aft cabin against starboard wall the cabinet that is there. Access panel in the cabinet. Very easy, the port side is a little more annoying, access panel is underneath the cockpit refrigerator.

I'll have to open it up and check if it is the same with my older gasser. Not that I need to swap it out.

Has anyone opened the main distribution panel? I read post 232 that unscrew the top screws and it’s hinged at the bottom, but do I have to take the cabinet door off to accomplish this? Thanks

Rotella or Delo 15-40. I also change my transmission fluid and clean filters. Airseps if you have not cleaned them in a few years. Then before I recommission, I will change my impellers. I do fuel filters every few years.

just a fyi, i just ordered all my oil change stuff right from cummins, including the oil, and it was cheaper or pretty much same price as from sbmar and walmart, and its getting delivered to my house. free shipping cant beat that

Good info. Just curious, but how much did it cost per gallon of oil? Can usually get a gallon of 15-40 (Delo or Rotello) at Walmart for under $20 each. Sometimes as low as $14 each.

Since I only have about 6 hours this year on my Cummins QSB’s due to lightning strike that disabled boat most of the summer, do I need to change oil & filter?

probably not,i had similar situation, only put about 12 hours on the boat, i decided to do the oil change because previous was done by last owner and i just wanted to go into next season knowing i had done it myself.

how do i winterize these windshield washers? are they connected to the fresh water system or separate resevoir?

I have a 2006 40 da and yes the door has to come off. But note on mine only the center "bolt" on each hinge has to be loosened and it slides ride out. Goes back same way with no door adjustments required.

I use the valvolene 15-40 for all engs
Next up for me is the fresh water. empty tank. disconnect both hoses to FW pump. Hook up compressed air to outlet hose of FW pump. Go to every fixture (do this twice) and run 100% cold and then 100% hot till you get 95% air. last year i opened drain on hot water heater, not doing that this year. Now disconnect dock side water supply and hook up compressed air repeat above. I know this is a fair amount of work but my wife hated the taste of pink stuff in the spring.
Next pump out holding tank and put 2 gallons of pink stuff in each toilet-flush!
Next throw a half gallon of pink down floor drain in head and shower. Verify you get pink out the shower drain box.
Now the engs. I made garden hose fittings for my graco raw water strainers for 3 engs and AC strainer. Take a ~10 gal garbage can and connect garden hose (need bulk head fitting for this) to it. Connect hose to graco, fill garbage can with about 6 gals of pink, close seacock, run eng until pink is coming out exhaust. Same technique for AC.
Miller Time. Guess I got a little carried away here.
