Official 370 Sundancer thread

To All 370 Owners:
Have any of you gone from the standard (and relatively small) 18x21 3-blade props to 4-blades? I am seriously looking into this and would love to hear if anyone has experienced this on their 370. I'm looking for better slow speed maneuverability, especially when battling strong winds while docking. I could use more bite.

i fought too much spec to much wind . in Denmark are ports very small and tight so I took the plunge and installed trusts and rear:smt001

Here are some pics of my tv upgrade. I made a door to match the other closets with a mirror to convert the old tv hole to a closet. I still need to conceal some wires. The new mount is adjustable so you can watch from the mid cabin when its set up as a birth. I also added a strap that is behind the tv to keep it secure when traveling.

Anne,

I'm in the middle of remodeling alot of stuff inside my boat....... I'm doing something similar to what you did (I'm doing a 32" LED on the aft bulkhead and something over the old TV hole) I'm interested in how you made that mirrored door and the mounting hardware you used.

Looks great!

John

Greetings all

The snow here in NJ is really getting to me! And more to come next week. Looking for "etching" to place over the mirrors in the salon and aft cabin.. Anyone have any ideas where to purchase?

Thanks and hurry Spring!

Know how you feel Ron. So far this winter we have 113 inches and more is coming in off Lake Ontario. Phoenix, NY is located about 25 miles south of the lake and about 25 miles north of Syracuse, NY. Long winters up here. :smt089

Hey Connie, we've had over 40 inches so far - and I live at the Jersey Shore where its not suppose to snow too much... Last year was just as bad! Guess its all due to Global Warming!

Stay warm!

Yeh, I grew up 200rd Street in Manhattan just North of the GW bridge. When I moved up here in lived in Oswego, NY which is on Lake Ontario - talk about alot of snow. Last weekend we had -13 temp and thats not including the wind chill. I will be glad when spring is here.

Give a call to a local sign shop in your area...there are some great products available to them from 3M, Avery, and Oracal that look just like etched glass. They will be able to cut whatever you want to put onto your mirrors or glass and it will look awesome. Just a little tricky applying it, but they can provide you with installation instructions or go to the manufacturer's website for as detailed of information as you can get. Good luck!

We have not had much activity on our thread as of late. I hope everyone has been busy making plans for Spring and that next upgrade. I plan to have the bottom soda blasted, barrier coated followed by hard coat and ablative. I have been given a price of 4500 at my marina, they will be pulling her inside so work can be done prior to April 1 launch date. What do you guys think? What is everyone else planning for their next addition/upgrade?

Has anyone ever had to replace the port side fuel sender from the tank?

My dealership has told me that they have to remove the cockpit freezer and drill an access hole, so the sender can be pulled out straight. Labor is about 4 hours. Yikes.

It's the reason I haven't replaced that side. I concur with your service shop. You can get to the sender from the engine room, but you can't get the old one out or the new on in without coming through the cockpit floor. They'll drill a hole and put an inspection plate on it. Should have been done at the factory in my opinion.

Russ, i think about the boat every day and I'm really Jones'n for the season. But it's hard to get around the frozen remains of the 81" of snow and ice we've had so far. I haven't laid eyes on my baby since Nov. and it's killing me.

Dreaming of warm water....

I find it easier to just forget about the boat other then checking on it every few weeks. Can't fight the weather, not ready to move south yet, so I crank up the heat in my garage and focus on my 69 Z/28 restoration. It gets me through the winter. Mark

I'm right there with you Mark......spent last weekend in the garage waxing, cleaning and doing some maintenance to the bowrider, spent today detailing my truck. Nice having heat in the garage........supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow, may take a ride down to visit the boat.

Mark, I was never much of a car guy, but I always liked the 69 Z and the 68-72 vette. Here is something for you, I stumbled upon this while looking for flooring ideas for my garage. This guy's Z/28 and garage are both SICK!

Can't wait for the season, with the warm weather going on in Michigan its a little teaser. Gene just wanted to say your web site for 370's is great! nice to see the models and changes others have made. Lots of good ideas are going on for upgrades to mine. Can't wait until she splashes! This site and this thread is the best!

This summer I will replace the old Panasonic 13 inches TV in the cabin area and I am looking for ideas and more important, the components used to replace this old set. I thought I had seen this in this thread, but I did not find it.

So I would appreciate getting any suggestions, information on this.

Thank you.

Thanks for the compliment on 370sundancer.com! I have neglected it a bit due to the pressures of work and the winter, but recent events have me working on it as I type this. Lots of new material to add.

This has been a common project on our dock this past year and I am going to redo my previous installation to adopt methods used on my friends boats.

What we did is obtain a piece of black melamine board cut to close tolerance of the opening for the old tv and had a black edge banding glued for a finished appearance. Then we mounted a piano hinge to the top of the board and the top of the opening so the board opens like a garage door. Then we added hydraulic arm supports like you might see on a hatchback only much smaller. Then we added the TV mount to the front of the melamine board and the TV to the mount. Finally, once we were satisfied we the way everything fit, we drilled a hole through the board to snake the cable from the back of the TV, past the frame, through the board to the hookups for power and signal. Add a handle or a cabinet knob like the others in the boat and you've got a great project with lots of usable space behind for storage.

My modifications to the process is to make the melamine board a little shorter to all me to install a blue-ray player in the bottom of the opening. Since our 370's have the radio right below the salon TV, I have the TV audio piped into the Fusion system I installed there so I can listen to the tV news while I'm sitting in the cockpit without having to strain to see the screen in the outdoor light.

As soon as I do this project, I will be adding it to 370sundancer.com for all to see.

Here's what I did. Everthing is holding up great! One full year and not one problem.
