Official 370 Sundancer thread

On my 2000 380, if you turn the key one way it locks, another way it unlocks the mechanism, I think the middle makes it so you cant lock it from the inside (where you have it now).... probably something similar

Anyone messed with the latch on the main sliding hatch? Mine locks with a key from the outside but it will not lock from the inside. There is a sliding lever on the latch mechanism inside to lock it but mine will not move. It's stuck in the unlocked position. I searched this thread every way I could think of but amazingly could not find any posts.

Has anyone considered or actually relocated the fresh water pump from under the v-birth to the salon under floor storage area as located in the 380DA?

Is the purpose so when it runs a bit at night, it won't wake you up?

UPDATE - Engine is running again. Not sure what exactly occurred, but here's what i did. Went down to boat the next day, and only plan i could come up with was to check the 3 fuses located at the ECM. Each fuse tested good. At that point, i turned two ignition switches in cabin on, and cycled start switch at the helm ON then OFF 3 times (not the start position, just ON-OFF) waiting 10 seconds each time. At that point the engine started as it normally does. So i am unsure if cycling the ignition switch did anything but it starts.

With the engine running the idle RPM is still bouncing (600 to 800 or so RPM). Since i had gone back to the original IAC i put the new IAC back in. Cycled ignition switch ON - OFF 3 times, and again it starts. Rough idle is still there though. Sierra instructions say to run engine 5 seconds turn off for 10 seconds to allow IAC to adjust itself, repeat as necessary. I did that a couple times and the rough idle is getting better but is still ocurring, less frequently though.

Not necessarily declaring victory, the engine is running, but it may be a fuel injection issue. Will monitor situation but will need a code reader to do any further diagnosis. Any suggestions for a code reader without breaking the bank? Service Manual 23 says it is a Quicksilver Scan
Tool 91-823686A2.

Thanks for any input.

FINAL UPDATE- After replacing a number of items (IAC, TPS, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotors), my problem with both no-start and rough idle were fixed by replacement of the ignition module (module in the distributor that ties into the ECM). Note - i did not replace the coil that feeds the ignition module, only the module. Please note - ECM did not throw any codes for my issues, so code reader was not much help in diagnosing.

Can someone please confirm that in order to replace the coil it is necessary to remove and disassemble the distributor. I think it is necessary as the coil is a "donut" that requires removal of the distributor shaft in order to insert the shaft through the coil. Thank you.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker first time poster. Starting my sixth season with my 370 and just made the decision that I am going to put more money into sprucing her up instead of moving to a newer boat. So I am excited to have you guys follow along in my planned upgrades!

Funny you mention a new boat and sticking with what you have cause the other day I went to the sea ray website. Biggest boat they seem to make is a 35 and the base price is 435k. I looked at the pics and I swear I like my 370 as much.

Here's your motor (likely) check out the section on removing and reinstalling the distributor.

This is why I was diligent in using "new-ER" I made an low ball offer on an 02 460, but didn't work out. 370 accomplishes the same tasks!

Hi I'm looking at a 98 370DA , any thing special to look for ,
Also how is the running attitude with 454 380 hp motors ,
How is the planing ? With tabs ??? Or with out ??? Is there
a lot of bow rise ???
Thank for any info
I have 2200 hours on my 1995 370(7.4) and still running well. Pretty early go beyond 3400RPM.

I need to buy/build a cabinet door on my 94 370 DA for the opening where the old TV. Does anyone know the laminate color (It is a version of white. I believe Sea Ray used Formica)? Or better still, a source to have the door made?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure if you ever found a solution: I had a shipwright fab a wood laminate as they could not match and of the original laminate.

Hi All

I have a 370 with twin Merc 7.4L that the oil pan needs to be replaced as they are cracked and rusted out.

Hoping someone can give me some tips on getting the oil pan out without having to lift the motors.

Anyone tackled this issue?

I am not sure about our 370s but there is a 2003 340 next to me that had the same problem and the marina had to remove the engine.

Thanks for the reply Chada. I did find a laminate match, Formica Sail White 463-58. It is so close to a match that I cannot see the difference. I fabricated my own replacement door to match the existing cabinet finishes.

Apologies. Please correct the respondent name from Chada to hmcsw.

Posting on the correct forum this time:

Posting for a friend who owns a 2017 Sea Ray 370da. He his having issues with low water pressure in the head sink. The other faucets have good pressure (I think there is one other one that is low pressure). He believes there is an obstruction in the head faucet and cannot figure out how to unhook the lines or remove the faucet. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. I think it may be a water pump going bad. Are there two water pumps or one on this boat. The boat is two hours south.
