New to the group, I have a 1997 330 EC my dream boat, but this dream is in the process of repower. I am pulling out the salt water cooled Gen 5, and replacing them with 2 rebuilt gen 6 fresh water cooled 454's. I am hoping i can open the hatch slide a forklift in then unscrew it and pull out the whole piece without having to remove the benches.
Anyone have any experience with taking out the hatch? would love to hear about it, or if you have any questions or suggestions that would be great.
almost forgot the hatch is a bit soft and will need to be repaired but that project is for next year
I just brought mine to autozone matched them up easypeesyDoes anybody know off hand what part number our windshield wiper blades are?
No what’s going on ?Has anyone had an issue with the power helm seat on their340/330 Amberjack or EC ?
Check the breaker panel underneath the steering wheel ,there should be a breaker for helm seat and yes the motor is underneath the helm seat behind the freezerMy seat worked fine when the boat was launched three weeks ago. Now it won’t move. It’s like the motor isn’t getting any power. Is the motor located under the helm seat?
Shooting? There is a master switch at the helm for the engine hatch and then the toggle switch on the transom . you have to have the helm switch active to operate the switch at the transomAnyone have any trouble shooting for the engine hatch? Just stopped working all of a sudden. Breaker didn’t pop. Move the switch and nothing. Is there an in-line fuse?
Meant to say troubleshooting… LOL. I forgot about the helm switch. I bet that’s the issue. Thank’s for the help! I’ll let you know if that works.Shooting? Most recent upgrade. My wife has been complaining about dirty floor in head, and I am too cheap to buy a custom grate- so I built one.
1x4 (3/4”x3 1/2”) Cumaru “Brazilian Teak” decking - purchased from Advantage Lumber in Buffalo. Have about $90 in materials. 3-4 hours labor. Wood is coated in tongue oil. It’s still drying, hence the shine. Same wood I used for the new doghouse over the AC.
Will post something up in the modification/customize board in next day or so. Pretty easy.
- Love it !! I want to do the same thing well done sir Did you happen to write out any plans for it?
What a great idea! Looks beautiful! Most recent upgrade. My wife has been complaining about dirty floor in head, and I am too cheap to buy a custom grate- so I built one.

Boated on Tonka for years so I know what you mean by MN prices and short boating season. The answer depends on how big your kids are. I got tired of Tonka and moved the boat to Hastings on the Mississippi. We have a '98 330 Sundancer. We love it! My wife loves the bed in the bow and when we have grand kids overnight they sleep in the "aft" cabin with no issues as long as the curtains are drawn. I imagine the grandsons will not want to sleep in the same bed when they get older and one has already put dibs in on rear bench in the cockpit so I think they will be fine. If you're on Tonka you probably won't need a genny unless you're planning on using the AC at night away from the dock.Hello - Long-time lurker here. ClubSeaRay has helped me sort through many items on my 1998 310 DA which I sold this spring. We loved that boat but want to upgrade to more "space". I say "space" because we'd like more space everywhere but also need to deal with the fact that the boat will be on Lake Minnetonka and, considering season length here in MN, prices are positively insane for slips, gas, winter storage etc. so something along the lines of a 410DA isn't really practical for us.
I've found a couple of great 330EC/340AJ that I'm really interested in but am concerned about space "down below". Cockpit space isn't even a question, I'm more concerned about regretting space down below for our family of 4 who will do likely overnight 1-2 nights every other weekend. I know the boat will do it....but will I regret not getting a 320 or 340DA?
I know I'm losing the mid-berth, no question about that, but what about the galley, dinette, berth area? I've tried scaling online images of 330EC/340AJ cabins to compare with 320/340DA's but it's always a bit iffy if how accuate that is. My question to you owners is how comfy have you found your boats to be down below? Would you buy one again based on interior space alone?
Appreciate any and all perspective here...thanks!
PM SentGreetings everyone - hope you're having a good (and safe) summer!
My wife and I are taking Lagniappe—our 1992 330 EC—out to the Sacramento Delta for the first time in a few weeks. We think we're well prepared (we'll see about that!) but are still trying to take care of one item for which this community may have good input:
Any idea on where we might get replacement screens for the three hatches? We hear the mosquitos out there can be vicious...
I've not yet had any luck identifying the OEM producer of the hatches and thus who might have replacement screens available for purchase. And time is running out!
Any assistance is appreciated!
