Official 320 Dancer Thread

hey all, i am going to make a trip this july from seaford to block island, then on to newport r.i . not sure if i will go inside or out to fire island, but i will go outside from there, anyone have any experince with this trip in this boat, i would appreciate any advice on which way to go, where to stay, anything to be aware of,fuel, ect thanks:smt001

Lenny,
I would travel inside Fire Island and then your look at about 12-13 miles to New Harbor at Block. If your looking for a mooring get there midweek. You can also anchor for free. If I were to got to one of the marinas I prefer the Boat Basin. Champlins is great if you have kids but always loud.
I love Block and think its a great place to spend some quality time with the family. They have everything you need but it comes at a cost so don't worry if you forget something. A friend needed new battery's and they flew them in first thing in the morning for $50 shipping.

Newport is a fun place too. I prefer the Newport Yachting Center but anything in the down town area is good.

Figured I'd share a helpful hint. The bow cushion on the 320 in a real pain to store, so I figured something out. When folded, it fits perfectly in the ceiling over the U lounge under the stairs. I put 2 U hooks on either side and with a couple bungee cords fits perfectly against the ceiling. I'll add some pics next time I'm down at the boat.

Does anyone have experience with any of the simulated teak products out there? I want to use it on the swim platform but I heard it gets extremely hot and will warp. Are there any brands that are good?

This is what I used on our last boat and it was great. If you go with the dark colors you will need to wear shoes to walk on it. this stays at least 30 degrees cooler than the dark colors.

Hi
Kind of new to the forum been reading a bit over the winter and what a knowledge base!

Splashed my 320 I bought just before the winter yesterday and everything went fine. Saturday and Sunday its time to cruise it home to my home marina. Its quite a long first drive about 180 nm. Fantastic time to get to learn the boat!

Im about to install a diesel heater as the weather conditions arent so forgiving in Sweden... It will give me about two month longer season in the water.

I already bought a Webasto air top 3900 and my idea is to but it in the compartment under the SB side seating. Then go thru that wall into the bathroom. Connect to the aircond/heater tube that is already there in the boat. Not going to use that as the aircond as its useless in Sweden and once this is installed I wont use it as a heater as well. Also going to put a output hole in the cockpit area.

So to the question anybody done such a installation and could give me some advice on placement and so on. I want to have output holes in cockpit, forward and back birth?

Big thanks!
/Henrik

Searched the thread but didn't find anything on this subject. I have 2 amplifiers under the cabin, long dinette seat that power the cockpit speakers and subwoofer. I had to remove the cabin subwoofer under the bench to even find the amps. Anyway, it looks like the amp for the cockpit speakers has gone bad or has some loose wiring. The one for the cockpit subwoofer seems ok. I cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the bench seat. If I can remove it I can get to the amp to see the wiring or replace it if I have to. They are mounted under the seat in a fashion that puts the end of the amp that the wires connect too at the back and unreachable. Anyone got any suggestions?? Thanks ya'll

Cory, pull the cushion all the way out, there are four screws that go though the frame into the bottom of the seat cushion. You may want to make some marks on the bottom of the seat cushion to to help line up the screw holes when putting it back together.

helm station buttons. there is one with a box and 2 arrows pointing towards the box. I have no idea what this is for. can any one help

It doesn't do anything on the 320DA. On other boats, it is used to turn the freshwater pump on/off.

Hi
Question about the left side switch panel (the one with hatch, blower, etc). Some of the buttons are really hard to push. Either you have to push really hard or certain angles seems better. Anyone hade similar problems and have a solution?

Another one, where do you level the throttles so they act the same. For me it seems like the SB one is reacting faster than PS one. Do you adjust that under the cover where the throttle sticks are or on the motor itself?

Best

so the other day, the 110v outlet by the mirrored wall behind the bench seat in the cabin quite working. I checked a couple of the other outlets and they work. I also pulled the outlet out of the wall to see if a wire had broken or come loose but it had not. Is there a breaker panel somewhere that may have tripped? Is each outlet on its own breaker? I just bought this boat so I apologize as I have not figured out where all this stuff is yet. Thanks guys!

Look at the GFC outlet under the COCKPIT sink
I promise that its tripped..
I have a 320 and my friend's boat had the same problem

Hey 320 owners, just wanted to say goodbye, it's been a great ride. I sold the 320 yesterday. Bought a 44DB about a month ago, so I'm still in the SR family.

The 320 is a great boat, and it served us well. It also held its value very well, which is nice for a hole in the water.

I much appreciate all the feedback and great advice received from the 320 owners (and others).

Scott

Here is the last picture I took of Pier Pressure II, as we dropped her in the water to deliver to the new owner <sniff> <sniff>

Congrats Scott!
My 320 goes on the market this week, decided to use a broker. My fingers are crossed....:smt038
Enjoy that beautiful sedan bridge:thumbsup:

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and have a wonderful 2003 355 which is the same as your 320 and I really love it.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia and there are not too many of these here.

I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. On the starboard side of the lower lounge, under the helm there appears to be a compartment with a hinge right behind the cushion. Does it open and if it does how?

Welcome aboard!
Place your fingers behind the cushion right above the hinge and give it a good hank, it will open. There is a nice large compartment behind there.
