Official 240 Sundancer Thread

My buddy just took delivery of a 2007 240DA and the dealer installed a remote spotlight for him along with the anchor line roller. They mounted the spotlight centered in the anchor hatch door. Only problem is when you open the hatch you must be careful not to let the spotlight hit the deck. Looks great there.
I'll try and get some pics.

Hey Everyone;
I feel like I fell off the planet with this site because of work.The good news is the travel due to my parent companies merger is over and Iam back. :smt024

Anyway I wanted to thank everyone for the information that was provided for the A/C install on my 240. I decided to hold off on the install and buy a tow vehicle instead. I figure I would much rather go to some of the awesome lakes in the area and wait on the A/C. Besides I'm running out of friends with tow vehicles

I bought a 01 Yukon XL 2500, 8.1L with 4.10's. All I can say is WOW. That wow comes in two forms with this truck. It pulls my boat like I cannot describe. The other wow is how fast it drinks the fuel. But as all of us know this hobby comes with a price

Anyway I can't wait to get my boat back. I decided to drop it off last week to beat the rush. Just waiting on the cockpit cover and Bottom Paint. Doesn't help that the weather hasn't been the greatest around my neck of the woods. Now I hear a nor'easter is coming this weekend. :smt013

lfalla, welcome back. That's a sweet set-up you got there. Here in up-state NY, the weather's like crap. I pulled my boat out of winter storage Wed. Snowed Thurs. Now, they're talking about a big one coming next week. I just hope we're not paying for the nice weather we had back in Jan.
I probably would have got the truck instead of the Air too. Enjoy the new ride. :thumbsup:

Luis, welcome back.
Nice truck! You are going are really going to like it. We made the change last year from a Tahoe to basically the same unit only the Chevy flavor and have really enjoyed it. But yes, keep your gasoline credit card handy!
You are now going to have a chance to enjoy one of the greatest advantages of the 240. The ability to easily enjoy different bodies of water, and boating experiences. Should be a very fun summer for you!
Our boat is supposed to be pulled from the storage building tomorrow. As part of the spring get ready I am going to make a couple of minor modifications to our A/C install. When I have the covers off, I will shoot some detailed photos of the install and email them to you. Then in the future if you want to tackle the A/C install at least you can see how we went about doing it.
Take care and have a great season!

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks Everyone!!
I just cant wait for the weather to get nice.

Mike: I should be up in your area 8/11-8/15 staying at a friends. I believe they are somewhere near the pushpin on the link below. Any pointers you could provide would be great. The last time I was there I used a public launch on the opposite side of the lake. Actually it was almost across from where we were but a little south. I think I remember it being a little shallow but I had a 16ft boat then. I would also like to find out about a transient slip so I don't have to pull it everytime. Friend has a new dock but I haven't seen it yet. It is probably small as it gets pulled in the winter.

Jim: Any pictures that you can provide would be great as I plan on eventually doing it. I cant wait to go to lakes and actually be able to go swimming. For those of you that have seen the hudson river where I keep my boat you know what I mean ( Not very Clean)

Thanks;
Luis

Luis, I'm at the other end of the lake in Broadalbin. I think I know the state launch you're talking about. There is a beautiful one near me but a ways from where you will be staying. I can check into a dock for you those times and see what comes up. I end my vacation 8/12, have a club poker run on 8/11, but maybe we can hook up. I'll be flying my CSR Burgee high., so I should be easy to spot. :thumbsup: We'll talk more as time gets closer.

Thanks for the pic gredmer. That spotlight is a funky set-up.

That looks weird...so if you open the hatch, does the spotlight get in the way with the guard rail? :smt017

Thanks for the pict. Not to sure I like the style of light they used or the location... I'm planning on using a Golight with the wireless remote, and putting it either directly behind the bow light or a bit off center and behind the bow light. I'm hoping it will fit ahead of the achor locker. Have to take some measurements first though.

I think the location of the light on your buddys boat is to far back.(for me anyway) It also looks pretty tall. IMHO I think he will get a lot of glare off the bow rail.

But thanks again for getting the pict.! :smt001

Here are a few pics of my remote controlled spot/flood light. The first two are the view from inside the anchor locker.

Where did you get a mounting bracket like that?

We bought our boat from dealer inventory so this must be what Sea Ray puts on from the factory. I will look for the literature when I get home this evening and let you know the brand if you are interested.

HO, You don't need to bother, I've already purchased the light so I have to work with what I have. I just haven't ever seen a mounting like that. I like your set-up much better than mounting it to the anchor locker lid. Do you have any trouble getting your anchor out between the bow rail and the light?

No problem getting anchor out, just have to make sure light is rotated out of the way for the hatch to open.

If any new 240DA owner is interested I posted pics of the cockpit table base I made in the "Modifications" section. It's a replica of Dave's great design modified to fit the 240.

Yeah...I just checked it out. That's a sweet set-up. :thumbsup:

"Just Chill'n" is home. Here's the "rubber tracking to snaps" mod I just had done. Also a pic of a new steering wheel and emblem I just installed. I didn't care for the old one. Enjoy! :wink:
