Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Well, cockpit fridge took a dump. I know a lot of people have replaced these, please toss me your suggestions! Thanks in advance! (Fridge turns on and makes noise but doesn't get cold) I'm assuming that means it's game over right?

I replaced mine with isotherm drawer 49. Not cheap but it is a nice unit, the drawer is great for not having to stoop down to see into the fridge. Good fit, I had to widen the opening by about 1/2" but other than that fit perfectly.

just bought this 05 340 DA , just came out of storage , I found the A/C disconnected
at the unit/coils under V birth , at the inlet ,at the coils and outlet ,at the coils , ( I never stored this way )
my there be anything suspicious about this , the boat only has 120 hr on it , was stored for a while ....

05 340da. , my actuators in the engine compartment , are all three lighting up
but all three in the cabin main panel power/genny work but do not light !!!
what to to to fix that ???? Replace????? , I find it unusual that all three don't light !!

My seats are tearing where the stitching is. Anyone do a temporary repair and what did you use? I can't afford to have them reupholstered right now.

Had to replace mine. Same problem. They have halogen bulbs inside them. You have to get them from SeaRay as they have proprietary market on them. I actually found the company that makes them (name on side of switch) but they will not sell direct. They are not cheap, like $60.00 each. Easy to replace as well. Would have just left mine w/o lights but have special needs daughter that I needed them to know difference between off and on.

I added a bullet valve on my 2005, added coolant, I think 134 and it has been keeping the fridge cold

Yup I would like to know the bulb # and how too , to change the bulb
any help or pics of the job would be appreciated thanks

Couple of people mentioned replacing the bulb with LED. Must be a common fix. Has anyone done a "How To" post on it? I haven't taken a close look at it yet, but two of my lights are out.

Yes, Our very own MasterFab has done a write up on his blog. If you haven't seen his blog, make it a point to set aside a few hours to read through it.

Fair warning - I am very mechanically and electronically inclined and found this mod to be much more difficult and time consuming than I expected.

a friend of mine has a 2006 340. there is water leaking out this hose, does anybody know where the water is coming from or what this hose leads to?

the picture is of the port side, behind access panel where the behind the cockpit door when its open

Looks like the drain on the air intake on the port side. I assume it drains out the thru hull right about the water line on the back corner but I am just guessing at that.

Well, here is where Sea Ray really ticked me off. In my boat at least, they take the hose off the over-pressure relief valve on the water heater and run it up and into the vent. From there, it drains down to the the drain you have pictured, and then overboard through a thru-hull. I assume they did this to allow the heat to dissapate from the water so as to not scald anyone who comes into contact with it.

What has probably happened, is his reflief valve is leaking continuously and sending water up there, where it will invariably leak because of the flexing, and sealant breaking down. I solved the issue by routing the hose directly into the bilge after fixing the relief valve. The only hazard I can see is if the valve fails again, I will be porting water into the bilge, but the way it stands (in your friends case) the end result is the same, it is ending up in the bilge, but is also running down the lower and upper hull seam, which has wood in it....not good.

Does anyone have the plastic carriers that attach the v berth curtain to the track or know where I can find them? Thanks

Hi guys !!!! ACTUATOR TROUBLE /question again, the actuators all in the bilge main panel light up the ones in the cabin main panel do not!!!
Now the port actuator works ( lights up smart craft starts motor , show hours and fuel! ) when I press the stbrd actuator up I hear nothing , and the smart craft gets no readings for port side , at all .no fuel, no hours ,water ( so you get it) the motor does not even crank or click .( every thing is dead )
So is it the actual actuator ????? Is there a breaker or something I should look at first for that side
has this ever happened to any body... My first inclination is to get a new actuator and replace ! Is it easy , do I have to open the panel and do I need any special tools ,

A few upgrades for this summer.
