Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Had someone on my boat yesterday that was intrigued by the spotlight. So much so was turning it off and on a few times quickly and then the light did not come on any more. Does anyone have any ideas if the bulb or a fuse blew because of this? I haven't looked into it just yet..

Now that summer is here (if you call this summer) I will generally keep my canvas and glass down and use the cockpit cover while away from the boat. Question is where do you guys store the glass and canvas on your boat. I have the nice bag but if I use it it makes storing it anywhere but in the aft a pain.

Not sure how old this post is, so excuse me if you have already found the answer you need. I do exactly the same as you do, and lay the glass flat under the bed mattress. It sits there all summer (or until I need it) and stays protected and flat. Hope this helps. (13 May 2014).

Hey guys, the faux wood trim around my port and starboard pods is starting to crack and pieces of it are coming off. I know for sure these "pods" are used on several different model DA's. I'm talking about the pods that have all the push buttons on them to turn on the stereo, windlass anchor, navigation lights, etc.

I called my dealer and they said they don't have the actual faux wood trim and I would have to buy 2 new pods to get the new trim.

Any thoughts? :smt100

New Camper top. The back top is just one piece and extended a few feet longer than the original top because we didn't want support poles in the rear. We basically wanted more room to sit on the deck when the canvas is up. The sides roll up and have straps to hold them. May add windows on the side later but not sure yet. The rear glass and side windows are 40 mil strataglass. The front windshield is 3 makrolon hard glass panels'. The center one pulls back and snaps to the inside of the radar arch or taken out and stored in a canvas bag.

Can someone please tell me where the central vac accumulates all the dirt and debris? I want to be sure its clean but not sure where it collects? Does it have a bag?

The canister is in the aft cabin port closet. There is a lid on the bottom of the left side of it. It does use a bag.

I don't have any thoughts off hand, other than I am glad I always put a towel over my dash to protect it from the elements...

I'll check around here and see what they have to offer. I've never heard of that happening before, but then we don't have the harsh sunlight like you do. Overcast and cold is how we roll these days.

Well I'll be damned!! I was in that lil closet yesterday for other reasons but did not see any indication of canister. Will go look again.. Thanks Zorba..

I keep it covered with a Sunbrella canvas that snaps in place and has some type of sand material that keeps it weighed down. It's always "in place" no matter how much wind I get.

Wait till you get to take that "lil closet" apart to get to the vent fan motor...ask me how I know: "memories of my 340!"
There is an amazing amount of wasted space in that compartment....big enough for a midget to live in. (Is midget PC? Perhaps I should say size challenged.)

So much for my theory of sun damage....

Sitting here at the helm, I don't see anyway to replace the surround as the switches are integral to it. I think replacing the pad is the only fix. Can you glue it back together with super glue?

I don't think we get the continuous oppressive heat as Kreole does either. We all know it's a sauna in a there. Wonder if it's a heat thing as opposed to a UV issue.

I just sent an email to the folks at Tecnografic, they advertise on here.

The pieces are to small to handle with super glue, I thought about that initially but my clumsy a$$ would probably have glue all over the dang pod.

Bringing home the new to me 34 Sundancer next week. The boat is three hours away driving time. 100 mile trip up the ICW. I see the part numbers. How many of each do I need to order to change out?

Trying again only on the computert instead of my IPad and hopefully won't lose 1/2 the message.
The first part that diappeared says that I want to change out all bulbs to LED's. I know the numbers for the bulbs (from super bright LEDs) for both cockpit (4210-BHP6) and the cabin (G4B-CWHP15-TAC and G4B-CWHP10-DAC). Thus the second part that made it through and posted, i.e., how many of each bulb do I need to swap out.
