If your guy is good he’ll take your image and provide you samples of how it will look. As a reference here is ours.

I guess the point is don't hamstring yourself into a specific dimension. Based on your design your installer can work around some of the obstacles.

Looking to upgrade electronics to an Axiom - likely 9”. Has anyone replaced the C80 or similar with an Axiom? What about the display right in front of the wheel? Size?

Earlier in this thread I saw what I think was a 9” on the left panel, so trying to see what it would look like with a 9” and 7” together.

Can you post pictures?

Thx!!

I'm looking to the exact same thing. I would love to see someone else's upgrade and also, wondering if the existing radar, auto pilot, transducer will work with the new Axiom??

I updated to 2x 9" Raymarine Axioms and Quantum Radar. I will post pictures as soon as I can find them. I also have detailed installation photos to post too.

Existing Radar will not integrate, transducer is dependent on whats intalled. I had a Airmar P79 hooked up to a Garmin that I was replacing and the guys at BOE were able to work out the cable adapters for me.

I am not sure about the auto pilot. If it's NEMA0183 you will probably need a gateway as I believe the Axiom is NEMA2000 only. It also uses RayNet which is basically Ethernet with some marine grade Cat6 connections (along with the marine grade price).

Here are some pictures...

Just a note, we (www.covemarine.com) manufacture the black panels that you see in the after photos. These are all precision cut for the 340SDA matching existing screw holes and can also be cut for the Axiom unit. We only make them in Black ABS (right now) but they are a significantly less expensive. I should hopefully have the programming for the CNC cut of the gauge panel later this year.

We also have a matching filler for the Ray215 when updating:

( Thanks @M Prod for the photo)

If you are interested I can post a write up of the install when I find those install photos.

I run both Navionics and Raymarine maps and radar can easily be overlayed. The units networked can access any data available (radar, sonar, maps, etc) and it will be shared across the network. In the event of a network failure or master device failure you will be limited to the functions of each unit. Fortunately each MFD has GPS built in and I do need to rely on the NEMA2000 GPS.

Thanks Kevin - that looks great. I didn’t realize the second 9” would fit.

I’d love to see the installation photos when you have a moment.

Thx for the post. I’m jealous.

I will try to put together a write over the next few days. We have been busy on a couple of very cool projects consuming my time.

Great, I'll let you know how it turns out :) do you remember how much you paid, im in Seattle I could potentially just use the same guy..

Unfortunately he retired. Bummer because he did great work. I think it was around $500CDN including the install.

A couple newbie generator questions.

I turn on the generator and it cranks up but just for 2 or 3 seconds then shuts down and it trips the solenoid breaker.

Are there a couple things I should check first off, I don't see any errors on the control panel.

Without specific make and model Gens will shutdown during the start for high oil temp, low oil pressure or no water. Is there a code? Check your oil to start. Can you give us anything else? Can you reach back and tell if the impeller is spinning?

Hi,

It’s a Kohler 5ECD
Serial 2160733
When I scroll through the command screen I get this:

u 0
F .0
o 42
t 31 I would say maybe this one is an E 31 in the top portion is out but the capital F looks fine
b 12.8

Any idea what these mean?

I check the oil and it’s full.
The batteries have been connected to shore power all night, And the port and starboard engine start fine.

Does your gen have a 3 position toggle? If so, there should be a reset. Do that first and see if it clears the fault codes. Trying to look up the fault codes.

I can’t find your codes on the list. Are you sure the screen is correct? Based on the guide for not starting it could be a few things but reset the gen first. Then check your battery. Then check the F2 fuse and lastly maybe gas?

As dumb as this sounds double check your battery connections. It could be loose. Don’t ask me how I know this.
