If you are concerned about the Amity Cut, why not take the Babylon Cut? I never had a water issue there.

Mark

Only I decide when and where I poop!!! Haha.
X. Take the lindy cut, plenty of water but you have two 5 mph zones to pass before you get to it.

Thats perfect that was my normal route last season the only issue I have is my timing puts me at ammityville cut at 1 hour before low tide and honestly im scared of the cut at high after what I've herd. What would be your second choice. I really like the run up north because of the ability to stay on plane the entire way but im not familiar with the waters if I head north right after the bridge by zacks. Im good with the markers but there are a couple areas that are not marked on the charts and show under 5 ft of water according to the charts. Thanks again joe I know im a pain in th ars but it really helps.
Lemme know about a ride to zacks if you wana come hang out on the kiddy boat
Head open and a case of guiness with you name on it

Now you are in my neck of the woods....
having said that, i would follow Joe's route or take the lindenhurst cut and follow joe's route. Been through both now in mikes and my boat its shallow, but certainly ok if you stay in the channel and dont cut the corners

Ok fine ill swallow my pride and just say it not sure which cuts are babylon or lindenhurst..... never took them don't have charts till Sunday when I get back to my boat and time is running low. The cyts are not labeled as such on the charts. Sorry im inexperienced still and I tend to stick to what I know. .. or am shown..

X, have you ever used ActiveCaptain.com? No need to wait for Sunday to see the charts. There are always online NOAA charts as another alternative. Got a smartphone? Download Navionics app and you'll have the charts at your fingertips all the time.

I signed up for active captain last year but never really got around to learning the site. I will start trying.
I have navionics on my phone but it does not label all the cuts and or small bays. Or maybe im mssing it.
Will look over it again. And did not know about the noaa charts. I will look them up. I need to dig up my old charts that I stored in the dungeon last season.
Im sure ill be fine just overthinking things as usuall..just nervouse I guess

What I refer to as the Babylon Cut is called Oak Island Channel.

The Lindy Cut is called Fox Creek Channel.

The Amityville Cut is called......the Amityville Cut.

And there it is. Perfect. That's what I figure but wasn't 1oo percent sure. Have you ever traveled the state channel to fi? Does it really take that much longer? Is it all no wake past ammityville cut? Im so excited havnt seen my boat for a week now. Starting to shake.

The State Channel is not all 5 mph. As I recall, the slow zones heading east are at Zachs, Tobay, Cedar and then when you get to Frank and Dicks. My wife enjoys the inside ride much better than running the ocean. In the summer, you can kill a thousand green heads while in the slow zones. Should be fine now.

When we go to Watch Hill, we take it to the Babylon Cut and go north to the north channel out east until we cut south into Watch Hill. I don't recall where you are going out there but take it slow. I heard the Watch Hill channel is shoaled but have not heard anything about the other approaches. Give Sea Tow South Bay a call.

I don't know why you won't take the amity cut? Ron says he ran it and it was ok. after that you'll be on plane the while way if you wait till Babylon your adding a lot of time 5 mph zones, if you stay in state channel all the way you'll go past the fishig boats at captree ,I touched a few times there with my 320 and never went that way again. So, my suggestion is head north ASAP and stay on plane you'll be fine ..

You sound pretty confident on that joe ill take yours and rons word and go for Amityville cut. Thanks again mark. If ya ever see a 330ec out there come say hello I have a couple beers for ya.

Will do.

Wish we were around for that weekend. Wedding in Rochester - ugh...non boaters.

Just be mindful of the markers at the end of the cut. Apparently a guy tore his pods off a few weeks ago by cutting the turn before the last set.

Yes the guy cut the corner , he was on the East side of the marker leaving the lindy cut , entering the state boat Chanel , (southbound) you should leave the "green" day mark on your Port side if heading south in the cut. thanks Mark

Joe,

The effen weatherman always gives good forecasts in the week leading up to holiday weekends. Then they change it right at the end of the week if its going to be bad. I think it is a government plot to keep work productivity up during the week! Haha!!

it's not all no wake past Amity, but there are sections that will slow you down.
Go north @ Amityville or Lindy. You will be fine.
Gets shallow near Captree also and there is a long 5mph stretch.

by the way most of the 5mph signs are gone, so people "forget" that they were ever there and cruise through. Just saying....
See you next weekend @ Zachs.

By the way, the guy that ties up all to a pole in Zachs all summer is not there! Maybe Sandy took his boat?

Thanks for being a buzz kill tod...
Hey joe your sh1tt3r working yet?
I had a horrible boat day. Boat a brand new shurflow raw water pump broke the push pull plastic fitting which you cant find anywere in 15mm so I had to buy all new half inch fittings and hose. Installed it vot everything finished up and the damn brand new pump leaks then the hose fitting at the end were you screw the garden hose to leaks. Stores were all closed so I have to wait till tomorow to return the pump for a new one and grab a hose fitting. 5 hours and I got nothing accomplished. Then I made th mistake of bringing my gf to target to grab boat stuff pillows blankets bbq utensiles ect. That ended up turning into soap pot pan houshold utensils blenders and hole other mess of crap to take up room. A100 visit turned into a 350 $ visit. And to top it off I found out the res for the steering fluid on the back of the sterring wheel is leaking. That should be an expensive one. My luck ill have to buy a hole new wheel assembly.
Oh well I leave in 4 days on my first trip of the summer. Hope the weather holds out
