There’s a feeding ban over here. I guess they found one with CWD in neighboring Polk county, so all surrounding counties have the ban.My son has been feeding corn and hasn’t seen a deer on the camera all fall. Just bears and coyotes. Even the wolves are gone. Nothing left to eat.
58 of 72 WI counties are closed to baiting/feeding now. They might as well shut the whole state down and give it their best shot to control the spread. 30yrs ago when this started it was south in the state, been spreading county to county ever since. The deer don't go by the county lines. There’s a feeding ban over here. I guess they found one with CWD in neighboring Polk county, so all surrounding counties have the ban.
Last I checked it has not gotten into my area of PA . But it is coming I am sure.58 of 72 WI counties are closed to baiting/feeding now. Probably illegal here too. But we’re not feeding deer. We’re feeding bear, coyotes and rez dogs. There’s a feeding ban over here. I guess they found one with CWD in neighboring Polk county, so all surrounding counties have the ban.
Reminds me of a close call back when my son was dating the game wardens daughterProbably illegal here too. But we’re not feeding deer. We’re feeding bear, coyotes and rez dogs.
he best way to control deer is by eating lots of venison.Woody- it is amazing how they stay on trail here ( Brookfield WI). We abut a nature preserve and our lot like is the old farm rock line. Still a few apple trees left. We gave up trying to control them. Our landscaper wraps the bottom of our arborvitaes.
Nothing better than still warm backstraps being butterflyed and thrown on the grill.T

The Antelope backstrap (that hasn't eaten to much sage) is a pretty serious contender in this cut. Don't you dare butterfly it!That is very true and
Delicious
Cars in Michigan kill more deer than the Hunters. LolBears eat a lot of deer. Especially young ones .
Back when I used to feed deer heavy I could sit on a chair in the front yard smoking a cig, bang a couple 5gal buckets together and the deer would come running, big bucks and all...but not the biggest ones, those guys were pretty tricky, always off in the woods slinking around, barely get a little glimpse of them.Going to try my best to harvest one Saturday and Sunday. That’s awesome. We were hoping to do something similar last Winter. We fed one and it started getting used to us until the snow melted in May , then left. The chronic wasting feeding ban makes that off limits this year. It was good entertainment for us ‘citiots’.Back when I used to feed deer heavy I could sit on a chair in the front yard smoking a cig, bang a couple 5gal buckets together and the deer would come running, big bucks and all...but not the biggest ones, those guys were pretty tricky, always off in the woods slinking around, barely get a little glimpse of them.
