New Swim Platform

I'd love to know what issues you ran into before I order mine, can you PM me with a little info ?

When I had my 280ss I very seriously considered adding an exended platform. I searched SwimPlatforms.com fairly extensively. They are the go to company. I don't think I read a negative word about them.

Ultimately I sold that boat before I bought the platform. I'm certain I would have been pleased and I'm sure you will be too.

They're not cheap, but it's the least expensive way to make your boat bigger.

yeah I'm not too concerned. It seems that customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance to them. We ran into a glitch and they're making it right by building me another one. This one here is going back to them and they won't have any trouble selling it.....it's a beautiful platform. Just not quite right for my boat. I'm sure the second one when it gets here will be just fine

Any chance you can give more details? Mold process? Wrong profile on the boat side? I'm not bashing SP.com, I LOVE mine, I'm just curious what happened. If they are going to still sell it i'm guessing pretty minor???

ladder on the wrong side and they got the color wrong. two things not right for my boat. a little in-house miscommunication I suspect since my instructions when ordering were very clear and specific.

other than that...the platform is beautiful.....very well built....excellent quality. and they very quickly offered to build me another one which is supposed to be ready to ship today. it'll probably be on its way to me early next week. so with any luck I'll be seeing it in another week or so. I'm sure I'll be able to hang it proudly on the back of my boat and show it off all summer.

S--t happens occasionally and I understand that. But they have alot of happy customers out there.....and I'm confident I'll be another soon.

UPDATE

The second platform arrived here today and upon initial inspection everything looks great.

I can't say enough good about Swimplatforms Inc and their product and the service I received from them.

We ran into an unfortunate glitch.....but their dedication to making sure they put out a top notch product and that their customers are fully satisfied can't be over stated.

There's no doubt they took a financial hit on this one with paying for the shipping of the replacement platform....and paying for shipping back the first one.....brokerage fees, additional crating and whatever else there might have been......but they wanted to ensure I was happy. And I am.

It's a pity all companies don't operate like these guys.

I couldn't recommend them highly enough to anyone considering a new platform. They're TOPS in my book.

I can't remember the last time I had the kind of customer service that they give. I sure would be nice if more companies operated the way they do.
Art is great to work with.

Great to know , I'm cutting the shrinkwrap off the platform in a few hours and making my template.
were really excited and as I stated prior, Sea Ray suggested we use swimplatforms.com for a great job!!!!
glad ypur job turned out as expected!!!!

Good luck with yours Shamrock

"I can't remember the last time I had the kind of customer service that they give."

Ditto

"Art is great to work with."

Absolutely. He'll make sure you're happy. His exact words to me were "it has to be right for all of us".....and he made sure it was.

On a side note:

Rusty Higgins is my new hero. He saved the day for us in determining the proper color for my platform. Sea Ray Customer Service couldn't help me with the color of my boat because they said their archives only go back to 1989.

Lucky for me it turns out Rusty was "Mr Gelcoat" back in the day when my boat was built and he's the guy who steered us toward the right color name and color code for my second platform.

And he was spot on....this second one is as close a match as I'm likely to get. Should look fine when I install.

Thanks Rusty. You da man!!!!!

Just ordered it today with Art, turns out they just started making the platforms for the 36DB. So I don't need the template . It's going to take 2-3 months so I hope it's in before Memorial Day!!!

That's exciting news, Joe. Good luck with the project. I can't wait to see the "new dance floor".

Will they still charge me for a 36'? The boat will be just about 39-1/2'

I'd be more worried about how it will effect your fuel economy! Oh wait, isn't that an oxymoron with your model boat?

What do you know about fuel economy? When you travel 10 mins each way?

I think if your boat says 360 you can easily get away with 36'. Most marinas in our area are not so strict, especially during the flotilla. The only time I would be concerned is with marinas that have limited room. Id say that for the most part after docking in LLM, the rest are walk in the park....LOL
