I've been threatening to get a new extended swim platform for 2-3 years now. Last year a new member came into our marina with his Maxum sporting a beautiful platform made by the gang at Swimplatforms.com and that was enough to finally get me off my butt and get 'er done.

For those who might be considering doing the same I can't say enough about those guys at Swimplatforms Inc and the product and service they provide. Their communications with me throughout and the way they handle the whole process is outstanding. Rarely have I come across the kind of customer service they provide.

My new platform is enroute to me right now....expected here late next week. Can't wait to see it. Just wish I didn't have to wait another 3 months or so until I can install it.

For anyone else considering getting one though.....I highly recommend these guys....they're GREAT!

We put one on my son's 215 Sea Ray and was really pleased with the quality of the product. Gel coat matched perfectly. This is a great company to deal with and adding an extended platform to the boat made a huge difference. Money well spent!! They are heavy to handle and instead of using lines to suspend it in place we used concrete blocks, wood and carpet to shim it tightly into proper position before drilling. We only used rope to provide an insurance. It was not hard to install.

Good move!

I used wood from the crate it came in to fashion a work platform. I then place 3 jacks to raise it and hold it firm for drilling.

I had help from a friend (two friends would have been better, but we got it done).

Sounds like there's going to be lots of good lumber left to use somewhere. They said the platform weighs approx 120 lbs.......yet the total weight of the shipment is 331 lbs. Gotta be an awful substantial crate weighing in at 211 lbs. They certainly don't fool around when it comes to crating apparently.

It takes two men and a boy to unload the crated platform when it arrives!......very heavy indeed.

Feel like a little kid waiting for Santa to come. LOL LOL

Following the "tracking" since it left Arizona Thursday.......Tx, OK, Kansas now......heading north and getting closer. LOL

And then I won't be able to do squat with it when it gets here next week. :smt089

You could wax it a few times.

You did a great job Quint ! The swim platform is awesome.. , and lots of nice complements ..

Best boat bucks spent on the 290

All of us power boaters at our marina were really impressed by the platform hanging off the Maxum of our new member last year. Heard and read lots about them but it's the first one I'd seen. Really looking forward to getting mine on this spring. Gonna be so much nicer...and SAFER getting on and off the boat compared to now with the small (approx 16"-18") platform we've been using. Never really measured it but it's really too small as is right now.

Final tally with taxes shipping, exchange on the dollar looks like right around the $2500.00 mark. Not a small investment...but a worth while one I think.

New one sitting in St Charles MO right now. Supposed to be here day after tomorrow.

I put one on from them two years ago and it is beautiful addition. The boatyard I deal with put it on for me because I just didn't have the time. They actually called swimplatforms.com to tell them how great the fit and finish was. One thing I will suggest when you send your order. Give them the gelcoat code for your boat if you have a model that switched colors during it's lifetime. My year 280 has arctic white gelcoat, the platform they built for me is not arctic white. Noticable difference but not horrible. Would have been perfect if the color matched better.

We had the same issue with my 250 Sundancer. We loved it, but the color was slightly off due to the differences in the colors during the 250's lifetime.

I called Marine max on Monday to ask about the optional Swimplatform for my boat. They called SeaRay and they no longer make it for this model but, SeaRay suggested I use swimplatforms.com so I received a rough quote and estimated shipping from AZ. They have never done a 36DB before this would be the first one ,I'm a little hesitant but after hearing all the reviews it will prob turn out fine. Any advice from former customers suggestions? I'm going to put pull up cleats recessed into it to secure the dingy and maybe recess weaver quick davit "shoes" for my receiver arms so they are not toe smashers any longer. Have them cut a hand grab hole forward of the boarding ladder. Any thoughts?

All I can say is that if they say they can do it.....then they can do it. One of the owners there.....Paul....told me there are 6 or 8 of them there who used to work for SeaRay. And everyone I dealt with throughout my process was phenomenal. As Paul says....they are VERY SERIOUS about what they do.....and from what I've seen personally......and all the great reviews I've read.....I'm confident you'll be happy with what they do for you. Be very surprised if you're not.

Good luck.

Joe,

Someone posted these pics a while back, and I thought it came from Swimplatform.com. I guess it wasn't, but I really would love one of these.

I plan on ordering mine in a few weeks. I wanted to get one last year but ran short on the funds. I am also excited to get it, and get back on the water. Has anyone had the light option put on the platform?

Kevin I got your text and I will call you soon , thank you. That platform looks better than the ones I've googled, it's higher than others I'm afraid our boats squat when getting up on and coming down from plane and I didn't want to drag the platform through the water, but this higher mounted platform (flush ) with the original seems to be a much better solution does anyone know who posted this? Or made the platform? The platform here looks awfully close to the water line.

Well....my platform showed up. Heavier than I expected,,,,but the wife and I carried it downstairs to put on my table in my shop to give it a good inspection after being shipped so far.

BEAUTIFUL platform....damn they do a nice job on these things.

Won't go into detail here.....BUT....sadly there were a couple of things not right.

Talked with them and there was no hesitation on their part at all...... "we'll arrange to have it picked up and we'll build you another one".

So....another one went into production last Friday....supposed to be ready to ship this Friday.

A shame we have to go through this but Art in Customer Service says..... "it has to be right for all of us".

Glad I ordered when I did....still lots of time to get things sorted out and get 'er installed before launch in May.

Oh well....."s--t" happens.
