So we were at a local home show this past weekend, and decided to pull the trigger on a new hot tub. We have one before, but always used hand me downs that were broken more often than not. And at the time it was located next to the pool, approx 12' away from the sunroom exit to the back yard. 12' isn't a big deal until you are shoveling snow in your swimwear. We decided the new one would go IN the sunroom. We'll need to beef the floor up to support the weight and have it wired, but that's minor. What I need YOUR help with is gaining access. Bring a shovel! I'll supply the beer! Delivery is in 3 weeks!

OMG! That's a lot of snow!!! Why not put it outside the sunroom? I don't think I would like mine if it where indoors. We go in it only at night and it's nice to stargaze

I melted a pretty good size pile of snow with a big diesel powered salamander type heater. Sure beat shoveling, I just went out every hour or so and moved it into the pile further.

Thats not a bad idea Greg. We considered putting it outside. The issue is, both sides of the sunroom is deck, which is good, the bad part is the roof is steel. All the snow ends up where you see it. I could put it where I had my old one, near the gate you see in the picture, on the pool deck, but again, I'd need to keep a path clear, and when the snow comes off the roof its like concrete. Plus my wife said she'd like it inside the sunroom. Good news is that it opens up really well, there are 4 sets of patio doors we can open.

it's too bad there's not a spot for it outside real close to the house, you had one before so you know there's nothing better then sitting outside in a hot tub on a nice night, a friend had one in his sunroom and the condensation on the ceiling and windows was nasty

I agree it would be nice outside. I don't think it will work though. The farther it gets from the house, the less likely we'll use it. I am sure we'll get a lot of condensation. But, on the other hand, we'll actually use that room in the winter rather than storage!

Well, got the path cleared last night. Wasn't as bad as I imagined, a shovel, a snowblower and a couple beer helped.

When it comes off the roof it sometimes does hit the glass. But the heat from the sun on the glass keeps it melted approx 1" away. The screens, on the other hand, are another story. Oh well, they were due for replacement anyhow.

OMG, you have my deepest sympathy:) How on earth do you live with all that snow and the attendant cold? It would just kill my RA. Good luck with the Hot Tub...no wonder you need one:)

Good Gawd!! With all that snow I'd put it outside in a snow fort. Like an igloo.

OMG! SNOW!!! I was in mine sat "Ahhh. Stargazing" enjoy yours!!!!!

Ours is in the basement, next to the sauna ,wheight bench treadmill etc...dont get down there much anymore though,we didnt even fill it this winter.

IMO, you will enjoy it more in your sunroom. I have mine in a special built room with a big slider a window and an exhaust fan. My last two were outside and as much as I liked to stargaze the snow was a PITA to deal with and was hard on the tub covers. Being from the great white north, I like it much better under cover.

Joe,
I like your style, and your drink choice!! I will have something for the Flotilla that I think you might like….A friend of mine is bringing me back a couple of cases of Kilkenny from a trip he took to Montreal. You are welcome to a pint or two.

I have visited this thread 3 times just to look at those pictures. God directed me to move south about 30 years ago and I thank Him for that on a regular basis.

Good luck with your tub & the project. I'd offer to help but I don't have a snow shovel. Sorry.

You have a snowblower, that makes easy work of the snow if you keep up with it. How about putting up a gazebo type structure for the hot tub maybe put a fireplace in it too.
