Not done yet????? C'mon... what ya waitin for...

Jim

The problems I have just trying to get on the current system are such that if we can eliminate that problem alone by moving to the new system now, I think we should do it. This AM I had to wait several minutes to even access the CSR web site. If everyone is experiencing the same delays, then traffic on the site has to be way down as well.

Hey Jim,

There is still a couple problems on the new system I think we need to address.
1. Someway to view post since last log-on and or 24,48,etc hours.
2. Pictures are not showing in post.
3. Why do we have a quick reply box that we can't type into?
4. Major Issue- Some way to search less then minimum word length. ie: try doing a search on "290 Sun Sport".
5. Way to put type of boat with each user/maybe on their profile.
6. Signature pictures don't seem to be showing either.

These are just a couple things I've run across playing with it. Other than that it looks like a great system. Does it seem like it is slower or is it just me?

There is a link in the signature that if clicked will take you to your sig pic. This could be due to a difference in the format of the forums, Jim can tell us, that may be one of the things he is working on.

It seemed real slow yesterday when submitting a post, seems to work good now.

Which server is the new board running on? Is it the same server that will be used when it goes live? If the current board and the new board are both slow and are running on the same server, then there are still server issues that should be addressed first (assumming the new board will continue on the exisiting server). I can live with the error messages on the current board but the slow response is something that I don't think we want to have with the new board. So if there is a chance that we have some type of server issue, I would like to see that fixed first before we switch over....................just my 2 cents.

Chuck, way to go on the testing. Glad you've found all those.

On this one, if you click the "Quick reply" icon to a post, it enables the quick reply box. It says this right in the box when its disabled. Worked fine for me.

Not sure we will be able to have sig pics, check the lines in red.

Allow Code No[/color]
Allow Code BBCode Yes
Allow PHP BBCode Yes
Allow HTML BBCode Yes
Allow Quote BBCode Yes
Allow Smilies Yes
[color=red]Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No[/color]

Was trying to get my sig pic to work, then read the signature permissions.

Folks, please just tell me what you need. This new software has permissions out the wazoo, probably 2000 different variables I can alter. If you want images in the sig just say so, same applies to everything else. We already have the option to view posts from the last 24 hours or since the last time you logged in. This new software can do everything the current software can and then some. The reason i posted the link is so you can check it out and let me knkow what isn't working. If something is not the way you like it, it doesn't mean I made it that way, it just means that setting hasn't been changed. I can't possibly go in and check everything, so that is where guys come in. Check it out, let me know what isn't working the way it should be, and I'll change it.

Just what I thought. Thanks Jim for all your work. Let get it right before we bring it up. Where would you like us to post item. This forum or the other. I say give us a week or so (Set the Date) and let us bag away and see how it works.
Thanks again

I think we all understand that you are still working on the new format and I don't think anyone intends to imply that you have set things a certain way and I see that my post on the sig pics did come across that way, didn't mean it that way. You are doing a great job and we all thank you. :smt038

Yes we want signature photos, thanks.

I have loaded a few pictures in the photo gallery on the new system. I have found that I can create a photo album for me and I can move pictures into that album, the current setup of the gallery makes you load into one of two categories. Is there a way you can set it to load direct into a members album? I like the idea of having the photos in a members name album, Nehalennia/ Chuck1/ Midway. We have members that take some great photos and it is nice to be able to go look at those anytime you want to. I do not know anything about this gallery setup so what I am asking may not be necessary or may be the way it is supposed to work. Just a thought on the gallery.

When you upload pictures it automatically creates a gallery with your username. See if that is not the case.

Jim,

The one thing that has been happening to me, and I thought it was a fluke, but still does, is:

When I go to "View Posts Since Last Visit", I get to the proper screen.
After checking out a few, and click back to view more, they are all gone.
It's almost like some kind of a timing-out, maybe not.
I originally thought it was a bug being worked out, but happened again just yesterday. Happens almost all the time.

Thanks for all you do, and please post a mail address for remittances.

You can click on "quick Links" to bring up a drop down box that has a link to view posts from the last 24 hours.

Search has been corrected so you can use words as small as 2 characters in your search, like "29" if looking for info about 29' Sea Rays.

Images in sigs are now active. They are limited to 300px wide by 200px high. They can be as big as 20kb for registered users.

I will wait until some more M's post, right now it shows (Uploads Posted By M...) . Probably when some more M's post it will start to sort by name.

Jim can we make it bigger. Mine is 576 x 87 Pix and it is 37K. Works find on all the Forums I'm on.

Really like the quick links. Is there any way want have it for other than just 24 hours. Some times may be off for a couple days and need to be able to catch up.

Search works great  Thanks.

What about the pictures showing in threads?

What did you think about some place for the type of boat the members have? Would be nice if it was search-able so you could ask that member about their boat?

Guess I'm still having a problem with the post quick reply. Did notice that if you click on previous message quick reply it post it under that not at the end depending on what type of display mode you are using. This could really get confusing?

What is albums under the gallery function?

We shall be moving into our new digs tomorrow AM. At some point around 5AM my programming dude is going to disable this software, then import all this data into the new software, and I will get up around 7AM and change the DNS to point to the new stuff. So at some point tomorrow around noonish you will be able to go to www.clubsearay.com and you will see the new software. Should you not be able to contain yourself and want to go there early just type in http://208.78.40.45/forum/index.php Hopefully this will go a little smoother than the last time

:smt021
