I decided to purchase a new receiver for the boat to replace the old unit. It has everything we want with the exception of a connection for the cd-changer which sits below the receiver. I have not been able to find much information or special connectors to due this. If its possible please let us know as I am a novice when it comes to these systems. If its not possible I need to figure out what I want to do with the space the cd-changer occupies, any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike

I recently replaced my original clarion radio and 6disk changer aswell. I went with the m303 and bought a usb plug accessoy. The m303 has bluetooth so the cd changer is not needed....at least not for me.

Yeah, That is what I am starting to think. Just want to fill the hole where the cd-changer was if I am not going to keep it. A usb plug accessory panel would be good I guess.

I replaced my whole stereo face plate inside the cabinet. I used a standard cherry colored shelf from home depot and cut it to size then cut out the stereo and plug holes and mounted it back in the cabinet. I think it turned out pretty nice.

I have an 8-track too if you want it.

LOL... that's exactly what I told myself when my CD changer was useless post CMD8 install; added a Bluetooth adaptor from fusion for $38 on Amazon and now stream music; best $40 I ever spent

I think that is the way to go. I guess a am old and I am having old-tech withdrawals lol.

I recently got the M303 as well, and got rid of the CD changer. The Bluetooth on the M303 is excellent, and I find no need to use CDs.

I am learning that. Just installed the M303 last night at the dock. Plugged in my 1 terabyte Passport from my truck and had access to my whole library. One thing that was immediately noticeable is the sound quality, even with the radio its amazing. Totally worth the money. I am going to build a new wood back for the cabinet and make evrything look nice, get rid of the changer hole.

I was just going to ask "WHY?" As you've realized you can have your entire library at your fingertips. I helped Seattleite install his M303 and I'll be doing the same shortly.

A bit old and out of touch I guess, but mostly its the 70 or so cd's on board lol.

I have the older Clarion with the cassette and CD changer.
(as may you with a 2000 also)

Get yourself an iPod Classic 160GB and rip all your CDs to it in Apple lossless mode. Plug it in direct to the USB (don't use Bluetooth, I don't think it sounds as good,) and it'll be like you have all your CDs on board at once.

Good idea. I was wondering how I was going to rip all of the CD's on the boat and another 200 or so at home. The M303 reads my Passport Ultra just fine so maybe I should copy my cd's directly to that? Anyway, I am very happy with my purchase. Going to set up my Android phone next and see if I can do the hands free call thing.
