Unfortunately it was because she felt under the weather. She was in California and went to the dr because she was worn out. They diagnosed her with Leukemia. We flew her back to Wisconsin and got her into the UW Hospital in Madison. We have been in the hospital for 3 days now and they are getting close to finding the exact type of Leukemia that she has. They are getting ready to start chemo treatments but some of the subcategories of this type of Leukemia need differnent treatments. She had her bone marrow biopsy yesterday and is doing quite well. She is in very good spirits so far but she is still in the first stage and is not feeling to sick yet. Thankfully her age is on her side. She is 19 and very strong, but they will be very aggresive with the chemo treatments. Thank goodness for family and friends. We have a long road ahead but we are very positive.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family...especially your daughter. I am a blood cancer survivor and I know how scary this is for your daughter (and you). Cancer is beatable and don't be shy about getting a second opinion on the final diagnosis. I got 3 opinions on mine and ultimately went to the Mayo Clinic for treatment. One of the most important things is to feel comfortable with your entire medical team.

Feel free to email me anytime if I can help -- rob@boatingcafe.com

You and yours are in my prayers. I have some understanding of how you feel, I have a round with a different type of cancer a few years back and so far I am good so hang in there.

Add us to the group who will pray for you and your daughter. Keep the positive thoughts as you go through this.
