My boat project

Hi everyone. Here is another update. We put a new bilge pump in. The old one was only a 500 so I had an 1100 put
in. I also have been working on the inner sides. The shelf had some small areas of rot but they were not bad. I dried the areas and used some "get-rot". I also added an aluminum
flashing for a little added support even tho it is not a structural piece. I have also started putting in the carpet siding.

See ya later

Looks good, however, I would install an additional bilge pump for that size boat.

You should have a high level and a low level pump.

Doug

Thanks Doug. The boat did have another pump but it was not working. In the picture you can see the two it had. The yellow one was the low level and the old diaphragm pump was the high level. I will put another high level pump in.

I also finished the carpet.

Thanks again.

Continuing woodwork.... I decided to use the original floor planks. They were a little beat up but there was nothing that could not be fixed.

You are doing some nice work Joe. Thanks for the updates and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Now I'm hungry. The closest thing we have to crabs in Michigan are zebra muscles.

I made some progress on my "little" project (268 Sundancer) that needed new transom/stringers/supports. I got the aft cabin done this weekend. the transom is done and both engine stringers are fully encapsulated!:smt038. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So this is the guy who stole my life and left me married with children.:smt021

Way to go Lad. Do all you can when your young as life may catch up and bog you down with stuff.
Play hard, love harder, finish strong.

Awsome pics Joe. Love those salmonoids.

We troll Lakes Michigan and Huron for king and coho salmon, steelhead, browns and lake trout. I love those big cold water fish!

Here's my bro-in-law with the first king we caught on my new (to me) 268DA this past August. It's nice to troll for salmon in a boat that has all these creature comforts.

Obviously I've been fishing in the wrong place!

Continuing woodwork.... Today I put in the floor board and planking. I used marine plywood (stained and sealed it). The planking needed some repairs but they came out pretty nice.
I also installed the side boards. The original ones were just plywood covered in a laminate and capped with aluminum but they were rotten and falling apart. I made new ones out of mahogany (stained and sealed) and put on new aluminum caps. My next project is the seats and engine cover.

Hi everyone. I am still working away on the old sea ray.
I got the new carb on, and I have finally started putting some of the seats and trim pieces back in. Some of the seats had rotten panels, so I replaced them and then stained the trim and repainted the panels. I have also started making a new deck hatch.
