:smt100 I have sinned :smt021 I sold our Sea Ray:smt089 And then I sinned again:smt021, I bought a Campion:smt021 I now beg you not to cast me out before you hear me out.
Health issues have recently made it very difficult for me to care for and operate the 240. I'm very lucky to live in an era where modern surgical techniques will not only save my life, but also enable me to enjoy the rest of my life with only slightly restricted mobility and a minimum of drug therapy.
For a few years now we have been wanting a smaller hardtop /pilothouse type vessel that will be easier to look after and will be suitable for occasional cruises to the rainy north coast. I was really hoping to find an older Sea Ray hardtop express cruiser, in restorable condition, that I could subcontract the restoration a step at a time. There aren't any around here. In fact, there are very few pilothouse/hardtop type vessels in our size and price range anywhere. We finally decided to settle on C-Dory, Sea Sport, or Osprey brands, although they are a bit pricey for used boats. Then we stumbled upon the Campion 622 Sport Utility boat. Small, simple, easy to tend anchor, piece of cake to wash, virtually nothing to winterize except a fresh water tank, and, no canvas and isinglass to be taking down and putting back up as the squalls come and go. We JUST wrapped up the deals on both boats. The 240 goes to a couple who will enjoy and look after it as well as we did. And this new to us little cuddy is coming from a young growing family who is sad to see it go but has outgrown it.
I've learned a lot from all you folks here at CSR and I've spent many hours of recovery time occupying my mind with all the info and camaraderie here. This site is as much a part of my morning routine as my cup of tea and the Admiral's coffee in bed. I do hope to be allowed to continue contributing my sarcasm as well as taking in everything else the site as to offer. I see that there are some Formulas, and Cobalts, and others who have been granted leniency. I have one more major surgery to make it through and then I can get back onto a boat and take in all the spectacular scenery that the Pacific Northwest has to offer and awesome people that the boating lifestyle blesses us with.
And if you don't let me stay, I'm going to delete all my previous postings, and then I'm going to design and market a universal bolt on jig that can adapt a Honda EU2000 to any swim platform on any kind of a boat.
Cheers,
Chris
and please be on the look out for Zonie and Sylvia, absolutely awesome folks who just bought an immaculate 240DA and are probably lurking here somewhere. Man, do I ever babble on once I get started, eh?
