Memorial Day Air Show at Jones Beach, New York

Can't wait. Depending on the weather is may head over Thursday night just to have some quiet time with the fiancé. But Friday the fun begins!

We are planning on heading down Friday evening. Who's rafting up behind the Statue of Liberty Friday eve?

Dean I'll be behind Lady Liberty prob before dinner time and after getting fuel at Liberty landing (good spot for gas too) just so you know

Thanks Joe, hoping to be pulling in between 7-8pm if all goes as planned.

Is it actually calm behind lady liberty? You can spend a night there on the hook no problems?

Harold you may have to stand on your bow and wave as I won't recognize your new boat!!:smt038

Joe, for you I will dance on the bow in a grass skirt......as long as Jonathan is dancing in one too!

The location is a cove near the Statue but not directly behind it. (Don't venture directly behind the Statute as it is very shallow and rocky). The cove that they are referring to is the pin in the attached photo. I have not actually been there yet, but have heard from many that it is a nice spot.

the channel markers leading into the cove are to the south of the exclusion zone around Liberty Island. If you look closely at the picture you can see them along the bottom right edge of the screen shot I attached.

It is USUALLY calm there - right Greg & Joe!!!!!!

Shane ,, as Harold and Ron said its a narrow well marked channel that leads to an anchorage you can see toady Liberty if you stand on the bow but it's a stretch. The 1 time we stayed there it was fine and well protected

Ahh.. Makes more sense now...

That's what I love about this site

Is the west entrance into Zachs Bay well marked? I've only been through the east enterance. Not a lot of water and really no marking. I didn't worry much with my 280 since I could trim the drives up. I don't think I'll makes through with the 340.

West entrance very well marked. Still shallow in one spot. East entrance local knowledge only!

Hopefully the markers go in soon... Was there last week and no markers yet.. That was fun :(.. Good thing I had my lines...

And your crazy if you go in through the east side, better make sure your seatow membership is active is you do

Went for a run today. Lindenhurst cut markers are in other then that didn't see any others. Surprised.. on the other hand she ran like a top. Very happy with her performance. Got to bbq, sit down with a nice cigar and glass of rum. Note just have to clean her up and enjoy the summer. So close. Can't wait for memorial weekend. Miss you guys

We are in for Zach's Bay! Just waiting on one more engine to be installed!!! Otherwise we will drive in circles...:smt021

Andrew, I drive home from work most days using Ocean Parkway. I saw the buoys in the west channel into Zach's on my last trip home so they are in.
