Memorial Day Air Show at Jones Beach, New York

Larry, I did not know you are having your engines done. Good luck. Hope it goes smooth.

Thanks Harold! Decided to repower and update all the bilge mechanicals in advance of selling the boat. Did new dripless seals with cross over, rudder packing, all new bilge pumps and switches....

I've seen Larry drive in circles with 2 engines!!!!

we also went out yesterday first official run of the season ,not counting the trip around the island to our new marina.(that was a boys trip) nice out but windy took 3 attempts at docking which is a lot for this boat as she responds fairly well when in gear .cant wait to kick off the season and see everyone

Ok, so I think I've convinced my wife to do Memorial Day weekend with all of you in Zach's Bay. It's been many, many years since I've been in that area. Is anyone heading to the raft up from the east on Friday?

Brian I believe Johnathan may head over on Friday, a few of us will leave the Statue of Liberty sat morning so save us a good spot. Ps we don't leave till Monday so stay on the outside in case the wife wants to leave.....

Brian I should be leaving the anchorage in lindenhurst Friday morning. If you want to follow me let me know and I'll wait for you to leave

I thought you were going Thursday?

We're hoping to join up with you guys again this year. Missed last year due to a late launch.

I'm close to that and never had a problem there's even rumors of a 580DB showing up this year heeeheee.

Well the good thing is if we get hung up, the tide is going up:grin:

Bill, if you come inside Jones Beach around 11 AM (and just not hit anything!) you will do great!!:smt038

Maybe we'll give it a shot. With the boat being new to me, I haven't had the opportunity to measure the actual real world draft or fine tune the offsets on the depth gauges. We wont even have the boat until probably 5/23. Cutting it close but I'll see if we can pull it off. Lets hope for warmer weather!

Bill I figured out who you where (with some help) congrats on the new boat ...
i thought it was weird that a 330DA had pods. So I started my investigation. Also congrats on this upcoming weekend to you both.... Hope to see you soon....

I really hope it starts warming up soon.
I am glad my units are working. My mom is visiting from South Carolina and she is using the boat as the "Guest House"

Harold, if the units quit send her here! I owe you brother!!!!

Thanks for the offer. We will have a beer at the Air Show and call it even

Mom has started her journey back to South Carolina, with a planned stop at my sister's in VA.

Well, I'm way behind in getting the boat ready but I think I've got my wife on board for Zach's Bay Memorial Day weekend. I need a little local knowledge though. What tide location do you sue? I can't find a schedule for ZB so what's the closest reported location that is representative of ZB? Where do you typically enter the anchorage and where in the anchorage does the group usually set up? Do you guys use a stern anchor? Do I need to be there Friday afternoon or can I wait till Saturday morning? So many questions.....
