Don't forget about Oxford and Cambridge on the Choptank. Both are good trips.
I grew up fishing on the Choptank. Back then, rock were plentiful, no license required, and no restrictions on size. Nothing better eating than pan sized rock. Late in the summer, just before sundown, we used to catch a ton of rock just off of Devil's Island (about 500 yards from your dock). You might want to try trolling around the airplane wreck. All the locals will know where it is. Another good place for rock is off of Sharp's Island lighthouse. Sharps Island is gone but the lighthouse is still there.
Right at the mouth of the Choptank, a little on the inside and closer to the island, there is a "hole" where you can catch sea trout (at least there used to be). They're not there long, but when they are they are plentiful.
I'll keep an eye out for you when we come down to visit my parents this summer. We go right by your dock and up into Dogwood Harbor.
Thanks! We are really excited and counting down the weeks until this weather breaks and get out on the water!
Looks like they got your boat in the water back here.... test drive??
YAY!! Yes!! We are suppossed to take it out! Thanks for letting me know. Of course I might get in it and never want to get it out!!
I don’t see her back there today, did you take her out? You got lucky as the ice just melted back in the cove. A few weeks early and you would not be able to go anywhere. I’m guessing you met Ryan? He is a great service manager back here and he will take great care of you!
