Maryland - Who's out there?

Don't forget about Oxford and Cambridge on the Choptank. Both are good trips.

You are right about that. I can get to Oxford in about 30 minutes from Tilghman and go there often. Cambridge is about an hour...

There is supposed to be good fishing in that area too. I grew up in Michigan bass fishing so I have to figure out how and where to fish for Rockfish. To be honest, I don't even care if I catch anything, I just want to be out there.

I grew up fishing on the Choptank. Back then, rock were plentiful, no license required, and no restrictions on size. Nothing better eating than pan sized rock. Late in the summer, just before sundown, we used to catch a ton of rock just off of Devil's Island (about 500 yards from your dock). You might want to try trolling around the airplane wreck. All the locals will know where it is. Another good place for rock is off of Sharp's Island lighthouse. Sharps Island is gone but the lighthouse is still there.

Right at the mouth of the Choptank, a little on the inside and closer to the island, there is a "hole" where you can catch sea trout (at least there used to be). They're not there long, but when they are they are plentiful.

I'll keep an eye out for you when we come down to visit my parents this summer. We go right by your dock and up into Dogwood Harbor.

Hi all!! I just came aboard to the Sea Ray Family. We just purchased a 2009 310 Sundancer from MarineMax in White Marsh and will be at the Gunpowder Cove Marina in Joppa. I am excited to start using our new boat. We currently have a smaller 192 Bayliner.

Thanks! We are really excited and counting down the weeks until this weather breaks and get out on the water!

I'll keep my eye out. I'm there just about every weekend.

Playpen II here. Currently on the fishing creek/cambrige area. Moving to the gunpowder this spring.

YAY!! Yes!! We are suppossed to take it out! Thanks for letting me know. Of course I might get in it and never want to get it out!! :)

I don’t see her back there today, did you take her out? You got lucky as the ice just melted back in the cove. A few weeks early and you would not be able to go anywhere. I’m guessing you met Ryan? He is a great service manager back here and he will take great care of you!

No, we didn't take it out yet. We had talked about maybe today, but nothing was ever set in stone. I was also worried about the ice and after you said you saw it, I was wondering about the ice situation.
Yes, we actually met Ryan at the boat show. We were shopping a different boat, but because of the proximity of the marina and the service being right there, was a big plus for me in picking the Sea Ray.
