Maltese dog breed on a boat ?

Yup...reason #1,274 why I have no use for a furry friend. I just don't get the desire to have something to take care of day in and day out. Anytime you want to do something, the first consideration is what to do with the animal vs. go and do it. Beyond that, there's always that one yipping, yapping, barking dog in the marina that really misses it's owner while he's out and about. Annoying to say the least.
Had dogs growing up. Now a lil black cat, Raven (Baltimore), easy peasy, they take care of themselves.

After a year on the water, our little lady has now become quite protective of her boat. Here she is on alert last weekend when other dogs were nearby. :)

Our little guy is 8 months now.... it’s been touch and go especially peeing in the house.... that was mostly go if my wife would have got her way. He has been to the boat a few times. My daughter fell in love with him so she adopted Teddy. He comes with us on the boat if she is working on the weekends.

I know this thread is a bit dated, but if you're still considering getting a Maltese, I say go for it! They're intelligent, small, and absolutely full of personality—seems like a perfect fit based on your requirements. Also, since your wife has allergies, Malteses are known for their hypoallergenic coats, which could be a game changer for you. Since you'll be spending time on the water, you'll also want to consider flea and tick prevention for your future furry friend. I recently read some wondercide flea and tick spray reviews at https://www.ourpetcard.com/blogs/product-reviews/wondercide-flea-and-tick-spray-review that were quite positive. The spray is natural, which could be especially important in an environment like a boat where you're in close quarters.

We have a Maltese which travels with us - or maybe better said is we travel with him.

He loves the boat and does great on it.

Bless you Hawk. I rescued 3 cats 3 years ago. I would rather adopt than pay. Better animals anyway
